about 10 years ago i came here years ago looking for some understanding.. my wife was getting baptized, and i was starting to realize that the jw was no mere religion.. fear led to anger, and anger led to panicked and rushed reactions.

i called them a cult.. with time the people here helped me to understand my situation.

i read steve hassan and worked tirelessly to apply his principles.

during my time dealing with the jw, i was always a bit annoyed by the whole "use god's name" thing.. one day i asked somebody the following:.

"if i murder and torture a child, and claim to do it in jehovah's name, who did i serve.

if i rescue, comfort, and help heal the same, and claim to do it in the name of satan, who then did i serve?".

i spent some time here awhile back as an unbelieving mate of a jw wife.

i learned a lot, and was able to be supportive and understanding when she decided to leave the jw.. unfortunately, my son seems to have internalized many of the jw teachings.

hey all.. a few of you might remember me.

i showed up on a similar board a few years back because my wife was getting baptized.. it was a difficult time but i was able to work through it with a lot of prayer and help from a lot of smart folks here.. my wife has since left the organization, and the wt has faded into a tiny speck in our rearview mirror that we rarely talk about.. i have enjoyed being free from the watchtower driven life for awhile, and frankly i really needed it, but i also know that alot of people aren't so lucky.

insomnia and a sense of duty has compelled me to wander back in here.

my wife's circuit assembly was cancelled due to a gas leak!.

does anyone have any info on the circuit assemblies?

i am sure the threads were posted long ago.. any threads on the convention as well?.

on the earth you should pour it out as water.. from these verses it is clear that there is an old testament prohibition against eating blood.

if not, why do you think it is sacred?

so whenever a person took the life of an animal, they were to drain the blood and not drink it because the blood represents the life and not theirs to take without god's permission.

What do I do when jw wife feels down / "uninterested" in spiritial things?

every so often, say once or twice a year, my wife gets kind of down.. she goes through a period of inactivity in her jw duties.

it usually has to do with field service.

she hates field service.

i remember when the dateline special hit.

i was a naiive ubm in waiting and the folks we were studying with made a special appointment with us to do damage control.

undoubtedly they were instructed to do so.
