  What does being no part of the world mean?

  i think i recall seeing a post some days *time* back about what does being no part of the world mean, if anyone has seen it please to let me know where, or where i can get some good information on this subject.

  i have been having some senior moments on this, and need the help.

  Can you be DF'd for obesity?

  if jw's can be(or should i say are) df'd for smoking, why aren't people df'd for obesity.. it seems they say that you are violating your body and hurting it from smoking but i've never seen a person live over the age of 80 that was obese.

  just seems like being obese is worse than smoking.

  I believe that smoking is a choice, I did it for 18 or so years and then one day I stopped, got tired of it, and the expense just plain pissed me off. I also believe the incidence of dying from secondary smoke is a bunch of horse shit. If that were so then people who smoke and hang together would have an even higher incidence of lung cancer than others, they don't as far as I know. That comment attributed to Steve Martin, made me laugh, I remember asking people just the opposite and then lighting up.

  I haven't smoked now for about 13 years, I don't mind those who do, I do mind those who bitch about it. The society with their ban on smoking aren't looking out for the health of people, they are looking for control. Does control kill people??????? Do people die due to the influences of secondary control. Just a couple of questions on my part and my $.01 worth. Buff

  Where Do I Go Now? Is There An Answer??

  with all the problems in the 'truth' and all the things that we know are wrong with it there seems to be aspects of their theology (i.e the sequences of the world powers, statue in daniel, the promise of world restoration again found in daniel) that to me still make sense.

  although i cannot follow a religion that believes in the destruction of all humanity barring those that respond to their own preaching work i still believe in a creator and cannot accept the teachings of other religions that have no purpose for the earth and believe that mankinds only destiny is in heaven.

  my mind keeps telling me that if god was behind a religion it would be so much better than that of the jws.

  i was speaking to a friend who is a j.w and asked her a couple of questions,the first one was that if god created everything perfect why did he give a bird wings when it is to heavy to fly ie:the ostrich,my second was that when the great flood receaded and all life was destroyed what did the lions,tigers and all the other meat eating animals do for food,the answer she gave me was that they ate plants and things?was she winding me up?im still waiting for the ostrich answer.

  Saying Jehovah's name

  when i first started studying 10 years ago with jw's i felt uncomfortable using jehovah's name.

  i can't explain why but i avoided using it.

  after awhile it became a beautiful name to me.

  Jurs, hi enjoy some of you posts, however in this instgance, you refer to the name of Jehovah, which is not God's name, unless of course the hebrew language does have a "j" in it. To my reckoning
  Yahweh or Yehovah my be it. One thing for sure the society seems to think his name is the Organization don't you think???Buff

  has anyone on here ever come across the tiniest shred of evidence supporting this date for the fall of jerusalem.

  i understand rolf furuli is about to but something out on this subject (see elihubooks.com), however even a table of contents has been a long time in coming from this site.

  if no evidence exists what can he possibly be writing about?

  And using wtbts literature is not evidence, not on this forum, so well what evidence are you referring to give examples and cite specifics please???? Buff

  i just received news via yahoovoice chat re: a special pioneer "meeting" that is supposedly secret in nature and restricted to only certain congregations who received a letter with "christian cong" as letterhead.

  i'm not clear on if some letters have that as their head and other letters had "wtbts" on them.

  it is said to be held oct. 7, 2001 at jackmurphy stadium/ qualcomm stadium, san diego, ca.

  Skally, give the city of San Diego a call or even Qualcomm itself and see who has reserved the stadium for that time frame. That would be I think on a Monday day after Football if Chargers are playing at home, should not be a problem to find out!!! regards. Buff
