Come on this guy was appointed by holy spirit wasn't he????? You know that is what we are told, but this person in a position of authority (er I mean servatude) debased himself and screwed his brothers and probably sisters too. Pedophiles, Defrauders and the like live in the witness world also. Beware who you give your money too and alwyas document, document, and document some more. And investigate just where it is that you are investing your money in and do you homework folks. Just because they are a witness doesn't mean s**t, investigate.

Here's a dollar for gas.....what a joke...
by SnakesInTheTower ini heard the other day on the radio that gas (in the us) was up 81 cents/gal.
from this time last year.
i am sure the 2 at the beginning of the price of gas on the sign is about to be as extinct as the dodo bird.

Gas prices are the pits no matter where you live, and yeah having people always want to ride with you and never giving a cent for gas got old real fast. Some of them even wanted you to give them a ride to their residence because they had caught a ride with someone else to get to the hall for the sales meeting prior to the door to door selling and had no way to get home. Sooo when asked by the elder leading the meeting for field selling, if its okay for sister and brother (not married mind you) to ride with me I said no, They don't donate for gas and I am not going to be their personal taxi. Well you could have heard a pin drop in a deep carpet it got so quiet. I didn't give a shit if they were embarassed or not. The elder tried to counsel me later and I told him its my vehicle and I will say who or who doesn't ride with me. I will work with them in the ministry (selling) but I am not going to be their transportation, and if someone doesn't like it, its too bad. He said I had a bad attitude, I then pointed out that he never seems to take them with him and his wife in the ministry and that has been a seven month observation. He just said never mind.

"it just looks good on paper"
by Gilberto inthe "where's your jacket brother" thread reminded me of an incident.. i was conducting 4 bible studies two on a monday evening, one wednesday evening and one on a sunday morning.
i was working full time.. so the only first call i did was on an saturday morning for an hour (the cats ministry.
on a "shepherding call" (don't you just hate that) the elder told me i should be going out with the group on a sunday morning and do rvs on a saturday.

looking good on paper is what the elders are all about, at least that seems to have been my experience in the congregations that I have attended. In one cong they put up on the board all the various assignments each particular elder had, and that was when I discovered who the elder was in charge of shepherding calls. Never knew, not one call in four years of attendance there. In fact in 20 years, have had maybe 3 shepherding calls. So they say they do it, (because it looks good on paper you know) but really do they????

I often wore sweaters and no ties, suit but no tie, slacks and shirt with no tie no jacket. And when asked where the i.e. tie, jacket was I would say at home, why where do you leave yours., or if not in a good mood, would tell them i haven't forgotten a thing you have you are not my daddy and you sure aren't my wardrobe servant so mind you business and don't bother me again.
Like giving talks as a ms they wanted you in a suit not slacks and non matching jacket, was told one time that i couldn't give a part at the sales meeting, I just smiled and said fine, I won't give any parts any more how about that. Resigned my commission so to speak and went and sat down. They were a little dumfounded as they had no one else prepared to give that part except me. The PO quickly came to me and told me to just give the part and we will overlook the clothing matter for now, I said okay gave the part and still resigned my commison no more parts, When they wanted to know why I told them, Jesus didn't require his apostels no his followers to be dressed in any particular fashion and the bible doesn't either you are trying to make clothing styles a matter of law. Matthew 15:9 applies. I never did give another part there either and dropped right out of the school too.

The wisdom of my 92 year old Alzheimer's stricken grammy...
by Elyse867 inso my grandma, a very devoted and loyal witness since she was in her 20's (?
) is now 92 and in a home, because she has very advanced dementia and alzheimer's disease.
she has better days than others, most days she just sits and stares... she doesn't recognize most people she knew.

Good for your Granny, lmfao over that, the look on the jdub ladies face would have been priceless to see. Sorry for her condition though. But it would be interesting to get her view on death and the after life during her times of lucidity.
The congregations and elders and pioneers and other ilk don't really care about anyone in the cong when they are really destitute or chronically ill, miss meeting equals less love extended. It's a shame really.

Knowledgeseeker, good for you, and congratulations on that A distinction, you must be really getting into you studies, keep up the good work.
You have felt the real (not) love of the unfriends (very conditional isn't it) and found out that they aren't friends as all. congratulations and keep up the good work, and enjoy the empowerment of running you own life based on your desires and talents.

Jehovah's Witness Tragedy: 24 dead; 13 in critical condition
by Kenneson inin nigeria, a bus carrying mostly jehovah's witness women, collided with a large truck on a return trip from a wedding ceremony.
24 died; doctors at a hospital are trying to save 13 others.
see "nigeria: road accident claims 24 in abia.".

this is sure Eccl. 9:11 at its worst for these people. Those that are critical if in need of transfusions will probably die too because they won't get them, because a publishing company is telling them not too. That in itself is a great tragedy. I feel for those left behind, a sorry end to what should have been a beautiful day for all concerned.
