The society is guilty of spiritual abuse, so are the elders in the local congregations, the constant harping on service, being out in service, the constant haranging to make you feel guilty, that is abuse, the having to sit there through a mind numbing so called book study or watchtower study is also abuse. As if that is not enough, they then spiritually stone those who disagree with them.

Spiritual Abuse!
by Gill infor many years i have seen the counsellor at our local surgery.
she has been fantastic and has really led to me being able to lead a more or less normal life.
she explained that my problems had been caused by being in a cult, my whole life and the bullying and control that goes on in a cult.

I wonder why they call Greenland "Greenland," was it because it was once green??? Who knows, climate change may in facet be enhanced by man, but it certainly is cyclic in nature, so are we I think at times.

jehovahs witnesses are taught that it is ok to lie, if it in someway helps to support their organization, or helps to deflect criticism of it.. .
jehovah's witnesses are known to give appearances that they are normal, just like the average american.

Global warming is in my view a scam, when it is solely attributed to mankind, we haven't been around here long enough to buy that argument, it may and probably is cyclic (spelling) we keep saying its hotter now than ever before, but go and check the statistics for 1934 and you many just find that that was the hottest year in the last centruy and still holds the record. Until proved that it is mankind that is causing this problem I won't believe it. Global warming probably but cyclical in nature probably. Getting rid of green house gases a good thing, doing what we can to find alternate fuels also a good thing, if for no other reason than to avoid paying money for oil form the middle east. Lets get away from that, we have our own reserves here and in the ocean near by lets use those not middle east oil. And lets have a concentrated effort by the administration and others to find alternate sources of fuel. Let's let oil be the back up, not the primary source.

A Speech from JFK
by beksbks inthis seems rather timely to me.
jfk speech on religion on sept. 12, 1960. these are the real issues which should decide this campaign.
and they are not religious issues for war and hunger and ignorance and despair know no religious barriers.. but because i am a catholic, and no catholic has ever been elected president, the real issues in this campaign have been obscured perhaps deliberately, in some quarters less responsible than this.

no Protestant minister would tell his parishioners for whom to vote: This part of the speech should be put on the bulletin boards of all churches, especially those that let politicans come into their churches and solicit support and votes and while there put down the current administration no matter who that might be. This is something that should be and probably is illegal especially if one is soliciting support via the currency of the country. IMO.

his attributing it to something divine, is just his explanation of how it was done, it dosen't mean that he literally means it, it just so unexplainable that he attibutes it to the divine. Things have happened to many people over their lifetimes that they have attributed to divine intervention, i.e., but for the will of God, that would be, have happened, to me, etc. Lets not go overboard here like a JC committe of nerdy elders.
