  Jesus and Military service?

  if jewish males at the time of christ were in the military at the age of twenty, and jesus fulfilled the law, then jesus would have had to become a part of that military when he was 20 also right????

  military at 20 (we are two years too early here in the states) and start up the ole ministry at 30. he had his career all planned out, did he retire from the military (20-50yrs) or was he just a reserve like those military reservists down in ole mexico (jdub types).???

  Does the lack of response show that many of the former jdubs didn't participate in the defense of thier country or what? I think it bears much thought to think about whether or not Jesus was at one time part of the military in fulfillment of the law, what say you?

  I haven't been to but a hand full of meeting all year and I'm home on saturdays and sundays, and I never have seen anyone here where I live, I mean no one, its like they have given up on the door to door harassment of the neighborhoods. MY MY but isn't it great to see the light shine. Buff

  in the land of the indian, no pun intended, their are jdubs who think it okay to support the local casino whether via the restaurant or the slots or even bingo.

  the spin i got from some of them on it, was that they were going out to have a good time and spending $20 to $40 on the slots that they were going to spend any way was not in and of itself gambling.

  the preponderance of jdubs using the casino restaurants is spun out in the same way, just an evening out.

  Esther, hi I agree in part, but when supporting something i.e. like gambling by going to Casino restaurants, i'm just parroting words i've heard over time. You can't enter into a raffle because it is gambling. etc. etc. etc. I actually have no problem with either moderate gambling or eating at restaurants, but don't you just love it when others *jdubs* speak ill of those who do, and you know the elders want to get em for gambling. appreciate your post and we will see you next hand.   the dumming down of the watchtower society is in keeping with all the 3rd world recruits, not to disparage their schooling but really, why do things always have to be simply stupidly written??? You have to remember that the Governing body are getting OOOLLLDDDEEERRR!!! and therefore their minds are going on trips without them, so there be the dumming down. buff

  Pioneer numbers are dropping, truly the light is getting brighter and some are realizing they are door to door salesmen for a Corrupt Governing body (i.e. board of directors)who don't pay anything, and could care less about the R&F sales force. Hopefully, the light will keep on getting brighter and more R&F will depart this corrupt bunch. Buff

  CO's giving new instructions?

  my step-son, a jw (18 years old) is here to visit for the summer.

  in a conversation yesterday he informed me that his co is now instructing congregations to "use the bible more" in their presentations when they're out on service.

  Now if they will only take the blinders off when they read, then maybe they can benefit from a reading without watchtower speak clouding their minds. However they will be encouraged to only come to preset conclusions approved by the governing body and the local elder body. The bibles will be opened the r&f out in droves however there will be no one home lights on tho. Yuck what a bunch of bull. Go out with the bible but what ever you do, do not and i repeat do not think or come to any unauthorized conclusions. Buff

  Alan, enjoyed those I had to work with elderly peopole for a period of over seven years and they are really fun and frustrating at times. One i heard several times was that getting older means saying I'll see you later because later may never come. I found that many older people were very caustic and intended to act like rearends now that they didn't care what people thought anymore. Thanks for the post. Buff

  when is your district assembly?

  i have my district assembly in on july 14-16 (may not be exact date but on that weekend) and i just recently went to the one in may on the 25-27. i was just wondering when everyone else's convention was and where.

  by the way i have mine at the comisky stadium.

  I dont go to the DC as of this year anymore, if I want to hear about the latest Bullooney I will get a hold of some friends of mine and get the loooow dooooown from them. As i suspected no different this year just more of the bull, in fact that drivel gives bull stuffings a bad name. More like the stuff from the outerlimits.
