i feel the pain and i have never been a JW. My husband is one, and the people at the KH show so many teeth in my face, but I am not worthy enough to even socialize with. I guess they think I am contaminating them or something. The only time I see them is when they "stop by" to visit and end up asking me questions like, "You seem like such a good mother and wife. Don't you want to know the real truth, and get to know Jehovah? I know your husband wants you to know what he knows soooo bad." What a trap. So glad I didn't fall fo the bait. I know God, and he is nothing like they portray him to be. I'd say run for your life if you havent already. I am so sorry about all that happened. SEEKINGHIM

JW'S view of family...
by diamondblue1974 inthis might well be an old topic and covered many times in the archives...but i confess i have not read that far yet.
what has sparked this off is that i have had a conversation with my mother who is still a devout jw...until now i have never tackled her properly on doctrinal issues or on issues which i know would or could alter her belief system...she is one of those who i firmly believe need the witnesses as her crutch and to take it away would leave her life with a void she wouldnt be able to fill.
so i politely keep quiet and refuse to engage her when she quotes scripture and verse usually to point out how worldly i am and that i have changed...(typical guilt trip approach).. tonight was different in that i am getting married to my girlfriend in august and as such there are some friends who are disfellowshipped and disassociated going to be there...they are some of my best friends and companions during my young jw days and are great people and have stood by me through good times and the not so good....(more than the self professed christians did in the wts) .

I married my JW husband almost 4 years ago in the county courts. Both our immediate family were there, but I have some of the saddest looking wedding photos you could ever see. At least we were smiling huh. Our families do not communicate at all. It funny though ya know that we had a baby before we were married, and his JW parents rushed to the hospital to drool over their born out of wedlock grandson. Yeah, I expected them to love him, but they accepted us having the baby at the time we did more than our marriage (4 months later). They are cool with me, but only have me around when there are no other witnesses there, or close JW friends that wont rat them out. Ultimate weirdness. Go figure!!!!!

though gone from us, you are not forgotten and you will be forever loved.. for my dad, who killed himself two years ago today:.

I pray right now in the name of Jesus, that all ignorance will fall away from every heart that is bound by it, all eyes and ears will be opened to the true and living God, and His true love will forever abound in their spirits. AMEN - I am very sorry for anyone who has lost loved ones, and I am willing to pray for anyone who is still fighting the battle. I know that it is hard. -SEEKINGHIM

by peggy inwould any of you allow someone to give you a read of your astrology charts?.
i saw a very intuitive reflexologist tonight, and he picked up information from me that he could not have known.
i have the old standard belief that you should not get into this, and yet i am curious.

What is that weird song that I have heard at all JW weddings that I have been to, and why do they play it? I am so glad I couldn't get married at the KH (not a witness. hubs is). Why can't you choose your own music and program for your wedding? Who actually knows the words, and why can't there be live music at the KH? If those are praises, they are very unique and personally speaking DULL!! Thanks!!

Who determines the "144,000 heaven goers"

Poztate,
Are you referring to the communion that only "those" can take part in. I thought that was so weird. I have only been to one memorial, so when they told me don't partake I thought it was strange enough. Then when it was explained to me that you should not take communion unworthily I thought' "isn't that where salvation comes in?" Who is worthy enough for God anyway??? Thanks and to everyone else as well.

Hey all!! I am married into a JW family, and I was told that there were only 144,000 people going to heaven (JW people at that) and I know one of the supposed people. Who determines this? For all I can see he seems like a pretty normal guy, and does not portray anything more spiritual than the next witness. Also, why is it that I (normal Christian woman, non-smoker,non-swearer, friendly person that I am) am never invited to the cookouts, parties and events. My family was even more recently not invited to a close family friends wedding. My sister in law is one of her best friends. Yeah that close!! It sucks that they can drink each other under the table and constantly gossip and dog other people, but shun being around me. I guess for fear of contamination huh? Hope u can help me. TY!!
