Veen, I got a chuckle reading the Subject Line of the post before even reading anyone's responses.
Its so true, now that I am out my week isn't segmented into meeting days. I would NEVER go back to that lifestyle.
at some point nearly every day of the week was soiled by the prospect of some 'spiritual' activity.
it took me years of inactivity before i started seeing tuesdays and thursdays as enjoyable, without a shadow hanging over them.
wednesday was always my favorite day of the week.. .

i'm a ubm, and the wife went to the assembly.
she didn't discuss the obesity issue with me, but my mother-in-law is obese.
so i'm just wondering how that would make her feel?
OMG I laughed reading everyone's comments. My husband remembers the CO that came and gave a talk about people joining Gyms, he said that you get all the exercise you need going from door to door.
I have been on a life long diet, and struggle with my weight. They would consider me more than 20% overweight but I eat no more than 1000 calories a day. Its definately not from being a glutton. So because J gave me a shitty metabolism, I wouldn't inherit the kingdom... OH PLEASE what other ways will they think of to guilt people.
i've been lurking on this website for quite some time, but haven't quite gotten the strength to post until now.
for obvious reasons, i cannot reveal my identity.
although my "family" nows that i am no longer a witness and celebrates holidays, they still have "hope" for me.
when i look back, i think of some things that really angered me about the organization.
i was raised as a witness and i was taught from a very early age that "reaching out" was the most important things i could do in life.
i was to reach out for "privileges" and get baptized.
It wasn't you Minimus that upset me, it was the material and that I was at the breaking point... actually any subject would of set me off, toward the end for me everything and everybody upset me. I had my fill and was so done with it. 35 years was about all I could handle of that religion. Unfortunately its still lingering because of family but thats a problem alot of us have.
An elastic for my hair
the news stations are reporting on the west texas orthodox lds sect compound and the atrocities that have been taking place there.
the sect tells its adherants that "anyone on the outside is of the devil".
also, the sect has previously predicted the end of the world.

Lurking Witnesses -- do you see the similarities? I hope you do.......
Thats all I could think of when I see this on the news, how familiar this sounded

It was so long ago, I don't remember details really but it had to do with forgiveness, not being stumbled by our brothers and forgiving them... All I could think of was "WHAT??? what about saying SORRY ever?... Really I was so glazed over with anger...that I was focusing on hearing the SORRY part that never came.

Its not your fault, you were just doing your job at the time, giving instruction from the podium... but the talk you gave made me so angry I was seeing red. It was the same ole CHIT... I finally left and said I will never come back to the BKH again and haven't been back since.
were you ever out in a service group and either everyone was paired off or it seemed that you were always the last person to be worked with?
(like it kinda made you feel unwanted)......
Rokus did do that
i found this online.
i have not seen it on here before so i thought i would post it.
it is a test to determine if you belong in the jw religion.
You are 27% Jehovah's Witness! You have some serious changes to make before you can be baptized as a Jehovah's Witness. Your attitude will likely get you labeled as a rebel. Parents will not encourage their children to hang around you or your children, unless there is reason to believe they can help you become a better Jehovah's Witness. It is unlikely that you will ever really fit in at the Kingdom Hall.
I knew I never had it in me
