  Volunteers to help with the site...

  i'm sure you've all noticed that we have grown quite a bit over the last few months and seem to get busier every week with more people joining every day.. while i do my best to read and monitor all the threads on the forum to make sure that no one causes trouble it is becoming very difficult to do this all the time.

  with this in mind, i'd like to ask for some volunteers to help keep an eye on things who i will setup with some extra permissions.. i don't intend for the forum to be 'ruled over with an iron fist' or anything like that.

  it would really be so that we could respond quickly if anyone started causing trouble (eg.

  I am a newbie and as such, there is not much I can offer. If there is anything that you feel I can do, just ask, My hours are opposite to America though.

  I am profficient a computers though. Even if my spelling sucks.

  Cool name

  I chose to leave about 7 weeks ago and I too studied long and hard and in the end, I arrived at the conclusion that it simply could not be "the truth".

  I set up a table specifically in my room and placed bibles and lexicons and WTS literature on it and spent 3 solid days studying.

  My wife helped me as did my mother and in the end, we all reached the same conclusion.

  There were several scriptures that resulted in this, and one of the easiest to see the fraud was in reading about the end times in Matt 24
  and comparing what is ACTUALLY said with what the WTS says.

  Also, I did a comparison with the attitude of Pharisees and Christians in Jesus day and tried to figure out which one that the WTS resembled the closest.

  We also considered prophecy and prediction and whether Jehovah could really support such statements as was made.

  Just some thoughts

  i was raised a poor white child in the deep south...ok, florida, where i still am.

  i was the typical slightly self righteous witness, miss goody goody, left school at 16 to pioneer, which i did for 4 years, met a guy and married him.

  he had 2 kids from a previous marriage and we had 2 kids of our own.

  It seems that life has treated you both very well. You have had problems, but you are living life now and no longer dwelling in the past, which is excellent. The future bodes well for the two of you and your three boys.

  Tracy, I have spoken with you a few times now in chat and I think that you are a positive influence here as is your sister.

  Welcome to the board. I hope you enjoy your stay in here and that you and your spacebar can come to some mutually acceptable arrangment.

  Feel free to believe as you will, you will do so anyway.

  People believe things because it gives them a basis for life and an explanation for the way things appear to be. This applies to all beliefs and not just religious.

  Believing something allows us to make decisions without having to rethink all possibilities and as such it is a useful thing. However, remember that all beliefs are based not upon facts but upon experience and most people often confuse the two.

  You have a set of beliefs based upon your life experiences and desires and it is not up to me or anyone else to try to change them. However, if you are at a point where you are seeking more clarity then by all means I hope that we can be of assistance to you.

  I do not debate for arguments sake although many find it fun.

  like many of you i dedicated many years of my life searching for the "true" faith or religion.. after researching and considering religion i came to the conclusion that there is not such.

  i decided to worship god in my own temple.

  i hope you find yours.. the force be with you all !!!

  Welcome to the board and thank you for both your courage and your openness.

  I am of course assuming that your question is genuine and I will respond accordingly.

  Obviously a person wants to follow a form of worship that makes sense and in this, you are seeking something that does.

  However, do not confuse a simple general agreement with a scripture or two to mean that this is a religion that has Gods personal backing.

  If you care to, investigate a little further and compare what you find with the teachings of Jesus in the Cristian Greek Scriptures.

  We know the typed of people he approved of according to the bible, and we also know those that he condemned. To continue, make an honest comparison with the actual behaviour of those in the Watchtower society with both the followers of Christ and his opposers in the bible.
