m.m. your friend is truly one of us. an excellent letter, encourage him to share more.
hopefully it will help as he tries to get to grips with his emotions. mr.alw
a while back i posted my experience about running into an old jw friend who revealed to me he had left the "borg" and told me all about why he had.
today he e-mailed me something he had written and i want to share it for the sake of those who are going thru something similar.
i think it helps to know that we're not alone in our turmoil.

just had the co visit and a circuit assembly and the big push is on to do business territory and street witnessing and less door to door.
we've been encouraged to "go where the people are!
" which brings me to a funny coincidence.
evil force, you went to the pub after f.s.??? that was normal? i took the group to macdonalds and was reprimanded. so much for unity! lol

never ever was anyone allowed to sit in dining room while meet was in progress.
blondie put me in mind of when i was a hall servant ,and we too like every hall had the prob that the front rows were never used so we tried all sorts of tricks.
first we roped off the last 2 rows, bros just unhooked them and sat their family down.
next we asked the bros to please sit as far forward as possible, yeeeaaahhh right.
then we were told to remove the rear 3 rows of seats. that worked well, not! when the habitual late comers arrived i had to go get more seats from the back room where they were hidden, or the dubs were just going to go home, what a schamuzzle.it caused more disruption than anything.
freedom of choice? i dont think so. mr.alw
i have been showing him posts.

i had to stop crying so i could write this and if you saw me you wouldn't think i would be the type to cry!
i am a 35 year old man from western australia....i should be tough....or so they say.
i have never posted anything before so excuse my fractured writing.
g,day matey! wa boy, pleased you found this site, as everyone said you will feel like your with friends very soon.
i am fading from the borg and wasnt brought up in it like you but you will find many on here that can give you help and encouragement.
your story touched me. i hope you can find what you need to help you get over it all.
so pleased to hear you have a good supportive wife. all the best and welcome from new south wales.
mr.alw.
.
many of us have shared in these projects, and honestly, some of my best and worst memories of the 'friends' were had at these crazy events.
will you please share some of your experiences at quick builds?.
my first q.b.was here in aussie, we just turned up and asked if we could help.
i was asked to stand on the scaffolding and service the brickies.when they needed more cement for the bricks.i was to shout down to the mixing bros in a loud voice "MORE MUD" and they like good dubs would mix a batch.
simple task,eh! something you need to know about aussies is they pronounce mud as mad.
so when i shout at the top of my voice"MORE MUD" to them it sounds like "more muuood" because of my very broard northern english accent, so 12 brickies and a number of others all start shouting in immitation of my english accent "MORE MUUOOD, MORE MUUOOD, i instantly go red as a beetroot, as i am in full view of everyone on site, and we all had a good laugh.
after that we were invited to go along to many q.bs and all our memories of those are good ones.

here is my story as originally posted on iidb.org.
it is only about a week old, but i have been lurking here for months.
it was written for non ex-jw's, ergo the explainations as to terminology.
Welcome and here's to the rest of your life - enjoy your weekend!!! alw
i think i was marked for a couple of yrs, but the jws are in our neighborhood these days.
i took a couple mags and gave my own little spiel (gently) a couple weeks ago.
i'm thinking next time...i will be prepared.
auntie jane, how about this......
after talking to them and accepting their mags present them with this quote...."WHEN PERSONS ARE IN GREAT DANGER FROM A SOURCE THEY DO NOT SUSPECT OR ARE BEING MISLED BY THOSE THEY CONSIDER THEIR FRIENDS,IS IT AN UNKINDNESS TO WARN THEM ? THEY MAY PREFER NOT TO BELIEVE THE WARNING. THEY MAY EVEN RESENT IT. BUT DOES THAT FREE ONE FROM MORAL RESPONSIBILITY TO GIVE THAT WARNING.
this is a q.uote from the watchtower mag. jan 15 1974, they will find that impressive, then go on to tell them something like the same org. joined the U.N. or the rand smart bomb profits they make, or some other topic you feel comfortable with.
this quote of the wts is in the front of ray franz book crisis of conscience.
all the best,mr.alw
well here is todays update.
we cannot be friends.
came over today and said that she needs this to be .
Hugs!!! alw
