  i've often wondered how witnesses seem to do well with christ's 2nd commandment with fellow witnesses and not all their neighbors.

  is this just another effect of their teachings?

  do they translate this scripture differently in their bible?.

  typically is there a limit to the number of disfellowships a person can receive before they're "out"?

  i'm specifically referring to my ex, who has a marriage/relationship that results in a babyx2.

  she just mentioned that it was harder to get back into good graces this last time.

She just mentioned that it was harder to get back into good graces this last time. She is a lifetime witness but gets outted to have a life.

  Sorry, I can't disagree with anything said so far. I (a Christ-died-for-our-sins protestant) had a very good marriage of 10 yrs with a JW until a child arrived and then 5 yrs of hell and probably many more years of heartache as the little guy is involved. I wouldn't do it again even though a beautiful child resulted.

  child custody update

  i am unsure of how to feel right now.

  all testimony was finally given and the closing arguements have been read but we have to go back once again in two weeks to get the judges actual decision.

  i am amazed at how stupid their testimony was.

  I can only try to say how sorry I am. Unfortunately, there are many around here that have felt that pain. I'm the father of a 5yo and he has been my son for that time in every way except biologically--so I have no legal rights. I guess I would do anything for him excepy become a jw. When he was 3, he told me that I was gonna die if I didn't start going to meetings. Somethings there just aren't words for; I'll be praying for you

  Need advice from people with a JW partner

  hi, i'll sum up: recently disfellowshipped, and am marrying my love, who is not a witness.

  i'm jumping through the hoops to get reinstated (to get my family back, and then do the slow fade) but am going to review that choice as time goes by as i choose him as my new life, not them.

  however right now i think that life will be better, long term, if i can pick up the phone and talk to my family, every now and then.

  I'm praying you can pull it off. I was the nonJW husband and we did well for ten yrs or so, until a baby came along and we have been separated now for sev yrs. Do your best to educate your husband in what your old life was all about, and dig into this forum as often as you can--it has helped me immeasurably. If you can do it, it will be as good as it gets with two people trying

  Just a question about love and religion

  was a relationship/ being in love with a person who was a non-jw a factor in fading from the jw religion for anyone out there, and if so... would you mind sharing your story.

  i really need to just get as much info as possible right now, as i am at a crossroads in my relationship and am searching for anything to give me hope.

  1st post. Just my experience, but as a non Witness, I married one who obviously weak, because for 10 years I thought they were pretty harmless. Then we had a baby and she was instantly "strong" to raise the little guy right. And there goes the family, and from what I've learned here, my story is a dime a dozen. Not an easy thing to deal with, but going into it, I should have know what those people were all about.
