it's an article in the october 2006 awake ' protect yourself from carjacking'.. it gives the story of suszan and anika who were carjacked in south africa.

I am sure many remember a particular brother or sister who you observed out in service, but when it came to the assembly or their need to share the experience during meetings, they told "their experience" much differently from what had actually happened.

I remember one pioneer sister who was famous for this and I am sure she is still in their midst doing it today. But everyone clapped and some smiled (some looked at eachother), but nothing was ever said to her about her stories. I know that there were elders who raised their eyebrows but as long as they counted her as a pioneer she was given free reign to buildup the congregation, whether they wanted it or not. I did once question her story, since I had been there during one of her experiences, she just ignored me as if I had not questioned her and walked away, sharing her love (and products) with the congregation.

Diagnosis - Skin Cancer......

i had a lesion removed from my right cheek, just below the eye and to the right of my nose a week ago yesterday.

doc did it in the office and indicated he did not think it was malignant - but sop requires a path test to confirm.

it was malignant i was told today.

First - Loved the Letter!!!!

Second - Happy Birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Third & most important - Think Positive and keep the energy flowing. I know what you are feeling, almost same situation with me, doctor saying it was just fleshy growth, no problems, then it turned black and was malignant. However, it was the most common kind of skin cancer and removed, now I have yearly check ups.

You will be in my prayer tonight.

New Revelation Book

well, it's not big news, but there will be a new revelation book coming out.

it is already published and sitting in the wallkill warehouses.

makes me think why they are giving out dozens of corrections first, and shipping the new book later?

If the September KM is stating that the reason for the downsizing at Bethel is due to technology being better than people then why is this technology not being used to print new Revelation Books? Has anyone be able to scan the September KM Yet?

I Got The Phone Call Last Night - My Dad Died

my mom called last night to tell me he passed on sunday.

he died peacefully and fairly painlessly.

my mom said she was talking with him, went to answer the phone, and 5 minutes later he was gone.

Sorry for the loss of your Dad. You are so right that he is the one that now knows what awaits us after death. Sorry for the loss of your family to the "Organization" don't give up hope they may well one day see the real Light. Especially with your Mom, she may open up to you in time even if she officially does not declare it. Sounds like you are truly being a loving daughter regardless of how you have been treated and she knows that.

Are you happier out of the org?

hi everyone i was just wondering if those of you that have left the org for whatever reason, have found your'e much happier than when you were in it?probably a daft question but i tried to talk to a friend about how i was feeling about a few things and why i don't go to meetings and she said would i really be any happier out than in?it just got me thinking about why i joined in the first place, because i was lonely and down, although i still am several years later it seems!have you found life better on the outside?did you feel a sense of freedom or was it really hard to adjust?when i try to explain what i find hard in the religion they can always say something back that then makes me think i was wrong in the first place and it is the truth after all - aagh!

Yes, I have a great love for all mankind and peace of mind. Absolute and Pivotal point of happiness when I let go of the truth.

I have a more spirituality and feeling of peace than I did in all of the 26 years in the ~~truth.~~

Wonder if anyone could find out if the Mother is a JW now or in the past and if any congregations that they both attended had any problems with his actions.

Would hope that the Denver police would expand their search for past violations of congregation children in their previous kingdom halls, just by sending a letter to each congregation (they attended) to see if there were any complaints brought to the elders.

The missing 20 years and Jehoiachin's exile

in my attempt to make this issue as simplified as possible, i have set out to determine exactly wherein the wts' missing 20 years must be found (607 bc versus 587/86 bc).

i think i have done it, and i would like some confirmation/correction from alleymom, leolaia, narkissos and any others who consider themselves scholarly types.. first, using the kiss method alleymom posted some time back i regressed the accession years of the kings.

since the hillah stele astronomically confirms the first regnal year of nabonidus in 555 bc, and since the wts unqualifiedly agrees with this date (although they neglect to inform why they agree), nabonidus' accession year was 556 bc.

Per phone conversation with society on the 607 vx 586:

"its only 20 years difference"

When presenting list of kings and calculating the years of each as to the pitoval date of 539

"you are doing traditional math"

When asking if they were not forcing a date to get to 1914 then 1918 for being appointed over all by Christ

"We go by what the Bible states and that is why 607 is correct and not secular dates"

You can put as much as you want in front of them and they will not accept it because to do so would take away their power, I believe they can see it but it is the "control", "power", and "$$$$" that blinds them to show love to the flock, who are in fear of leaving the Society, opps I mean Jehovah.

Garybuss, I think you hit the nail on the head with the firewall.

I recently had a friend that they tried to out by JC even though he had not been active in over a year and no longer living in same area as the congregation. He went to the meeting, got their full names and then proceeded to deny the charges and stated in writing that if they announced his name he would personally sue each and everyone of them and that his attorney had a copy of his letter of denial and circumstances. He has never heard back from them nor has it been announced as no longer a JW. Also told them to never contact him again.

I have a feeling when they contacted the Society they may have been told they are on their own as to legal actions and not going to have the Society to bail them out.
