Isn't it strange...the weird things this religion cult makes people do. Including yourself.
Hope everything works out for you and David. Sometimes, its tough to know what to do. Hang in there!!
See you at the "fest"!!!!!
after 8 mos of shunning acknowledged by familia and friends, i contacted my elder dad - mike, and he put my mommy on the phone for support - she was never the touchy feely type - more the depressed secluded type.
i wanted to know if my dad had any reason why i shouldn't send my official da letter to 2 congregations and parishioners (since my first request was denied).
he told me they then could have no contact with me, instead of limited contact.... i told them my jw family has had no contact with me since october and i did not even receive an invite to my baby sister's wedding in december- who i raised and cared for for 3 1/2 years while my mother was in a depression and had health problems.

is armaggeddon going to last many, many years or is it going to be quick, fast and over with in a matter of months?
i know the bible does not say specifically but if you were to guess what would you guess on the amount of time for armaggeddon to last?
jehovah and jesus have enough power to destroy the world in minutes.
After the pouring out of God's "bowls of anger" in Cedar Point, Ohio - Armaggeddon took place in Lyle, Illinois (a suburb of Chicago) 7 years later. It lasted 12 days.
Very few people alive today remember that great event.
im just wondering about what people of different are doing to stay healthy.
personally, im into bodybuilding since a couple of months and i love it !
im eating cleaner than ever (but not as i would like) and exercise 4 days a week.
I too am into working out. I take a kick boxing class 3 days a week and then the other 2 I have a spinning class....It really does help with stress and your overall wellness. However I usually am too busy on weekends to do much, other than take a walk....
I'm still trying to eat more healthy, but it all takes time and patience..... it's about changing your whole life style.
Im also tanning, it does have many health benefits besides the look
Ummm, I recommend doing some more research on the subject of tanning and using tanning beds. I'm not saying I don't think it looks really good to have a tan, but the side affects surely out number the benefits!! I used to use tanning beds, but after seeing what it can do to your skin ( wrinkels, age spots, CANCER) I stopped. I've now resorted to using "fake" tanning lotion products..... if you find a good one, it works wonders and looks really natural!
regardless of how you feel about jehovah's organization--the true religion, one thing for sure, you will not escape the almighty jehovah's judgement right along with satan the devil and his destructive organization.
how will you save yourself and those who follow you...?
it's ashame that your energies could not be put to a more positive use.
Julie Tripp is that you? It's so great to see you here!!! How is keeping the wee little sheep in line going?
LMAO! GOOD ONE BEAUTIFUL!
If it's not her, maybe a relative????
greetings folks - it's been a while since i posted anything.
the other day i was talking to my daughter about her prom - dress, limo, etc....and it dawned on me that i never went to my prom.
obviously being a jdub was a big reason why i didn't go or had any desire to go.
No, I never attended my prom, nor any other school dance for that matter. Looking back I feel really bad for missing out on that!
I believe the reason why JW's were counseled not to go was becasue you would be associating with "worldly" people.... and at that age you shouldn't be dating becasue you wouldn't be mature enough to get married.
or other stupid rules for women?
ours were contingent on the spirituality of the sister and, if she was married or an elder's wife, etc.
then, she got more leeway.
Ohhh ya!! I would know too, I got called in the back room every couple of months from the time I was 13 up until my husband and I left for good!!!
Not sure why I was the one who got picked on?!?! I remember other "sisters" who would wear longer skirts, but they would be skin tight and you could see thier underware line. Just as long as it didn't hit above the knee, I guess that was okay with a pioneer/ elders daughter.
The hall here has a brother who has major issues with spaghetti straps...and especailly if your bra straps show too!!! Hey, atleast us "sisters" were wearing bras!
I remember being out in service one Wednesday afternoon. I had on a spaghetti strap dress ( it was the middle of summer) and an older "sister" approached me after arangements saying I should put on a sweater or the householder would get the wrong impression as to why I was at the door?! I just thanked her.... then I noticed a group of elders and their wives in the back of the hall watching this all go down...it was all planned!
yep.
i didnt want to, and it was taken from me anyway!
i was at our cabin this weekend, walking through the woods.
Yikes Butt.... That's nasty!!!! Yep, ticks are officially out now. My husband had a few on him this weekend too after we went fishing.
That made me feel much better staying out there alone.
Why were you all alone???
someone asked a question in the "what generation are you" thread:.
were you "raised in the truth," or did you "come into the truth?".
i was raised..
Pretty much raised in....however my parents were just studying when I was born so I got 3 birthdays. No other holidays or celebrations besides that, that I can remember though.
my husband officially graduated from college this past saturday( summa cum laude, i might add .
