"A TREE GROWS IN BROOKLYN"----there are alot of "Jonny Nolins" out there, always dreaming but never doing. A very thought provoking novel, it could relate to JW way of thinking about the future.

What's the most thought-provoking novel you've ever read?
by lucky ini'd have to say for me that it was ayn rand's the fountainhead.
even though i don't agree with a lot of her philosophy, it definitely made me stumble around in a thought-induced haze for a few weeks after reading it.

My appreciation to all on this forum!
by AK - Jeff ini have been posting here for 6-8 months i guess.
it has been the best therapy i could have had.. i wish we could have a great big party and meet all the posters here in person.
i have not agreed with all, but i have been so aided in my recovery from the mental prison that is the wtbts by all your comments.

Well bless your little heart. We appreciate all you have to share with us and we realize how much we benefit from the others. Simon has done a wonderful thing here helping probably thousands to feel that they are not going crazy, or they are not alone in their feelings.

5 years ago, parking was tight at our hall---------today, only about 20 cars are in the lot for a Sunday meeting.-----------(20X2per car--40 people inside a hall that used to hold 150-200) The end must be close.

Get Your Ears Tickled
by Honesty in.
do the public talks and wt study tickle the ears of the jw faithful with buzzwords and phrases like jehovah's happy people and t rue christians?
if so, do you know any other phrases or buzzwords that the wtbts uses to give the dubs that fuzzy feeling?

Stupid Analogies/Illustrations/examples you hear dubs say over and over
by doodle-v inwhat are some stupid analogies that you here dubs use all the time to explain their faulty, destructing teachings?
or maybe ones you've used in the past that when you think about them now, make you cringe?.
here are a few that come to mind:.

Conceited Witnesses
by TheListener inlately several of the threads on the board have dealt with some really deep spiritual and biblical topics.
i love reading everyone's opinions and seeing links to even more detailed opinions.
it has made me think though.. when i was a strong dub i thought i knew everything about the bible and couldn't wait to 'get into it' with a catholic or protestant priest.

During a Wt. study, an elder makes the comment "worldly people are just dumb and stupid to not realize JW. have the answers to the worlds problems" Arrogant or what? I said to hubby, "there might be worldly people here today listening to this dumb a**." 5 years ago I would sat there and said he is so right, now I hear stuff like that and I want to hurl
