Sure I do but I realize it is all conditional love or like for that matter.....let's face it we were forced in the company of these so called friends for 3 meetings a week pluse service, in real life we probably wouldn't be caught dead with some of these people......but the ones you can be yourself with are the ones that will seek you out wether you call them or not........and those are the ones I considered my friends so I have kept the friends I really felt were my friends and they have kept me for that matter

Help Finding a Book
by rwagoner ini am trying to find a copy of the old pink "paradise book".
i remember having one as a kid growing up and seeing some of the pictures in it.
i can't help but think that some of those images started the fear and guilt in me as a child and would like to show my wife (a non jw) so she might better understand how i could have stayed in as long as i did.. she hears me talk now and can't imagine how i could have believed such a pile of bunk or how my parents still can't see how totally crazy some of the "truth" sounds.

sorry about that--I'm new at this---but I wanted to say I'm always here to help out the colored blind----with so many colored books to choose from you might pick the wrong color and get the wrong info-------it is all colored coded that is how you understand the truth ----by colored books

Hate leaving my family behind.
by Big Dog inafter lurking about for a while i finally decided to join the board.
i have never done anything like this and was amazed at how stressful it was to sign up and press the return key to join up and actually post something.
just a quick bio: 41 year old lawyer who was raised a jw but had the good sense to never get baptized.

heyBD---I can understand what it feels like to leave your family behind-----with my family most have faded and are very respectful of our aging mother. We realize this has been her whole reason for living. But we are sure she is sadden to think Satan has gotten 4 out of her 5 children to back off from the only true religion.......so we keep communcating in very sulbts ways but we realize she is a true blue JW.....

You mean the orange book so many colored books over the years it is hard to keep track.....I still have mine from 35 years ago......talk about the fear of god put into five little kids being forced to study this very hard to follow book by a scarey JW neighbor who was getting in plenty of time with our family-----she used to tell my very catholic mom that after armeggedon she would come over to my moms home and bury all the family bones together if she did not accept the "TRUTH"----needless to say that scared the bejesus out of us (6-13) and my mom......all in 1972-----right before the end in 1975...........and the rest is history as they say.

The word PIONEER, it can be the name of a furniture store or auto body shop or a dry cleaners it gives me the creeps and I refuse to do any busisness with them for fear I might be supporting the pioneer that might work in there......crazy huh?...............also TIME-----did you get your TIME in for the month---now I just think of time on my watch...............the way it was meant to be.

The sort of person that gets to be an Elder?????

do you think that the better the job that you have or the higher the social standing you have, makes it more likely that you will be an elder in comparison to those that are less fortunate???
quite a few elders in my old kh even had their own private car plates.. chukky

You are so right with one twist....the humble elder gets all the crap jobs while the "cool"ones live their life only to play the holier than thou when it counts like when the CO is around. then you'll see the fancy cars come out in service to carry his holy butt around to "calls" and "coffee break". And only then will some high and mighty elders take a day off during the week and do pretend service to look oh so good....why do they think the other sheep are so dumb not to notice......but God Sees all...so we are told.
