When you do the fade, and you are at one of these conventions, you listen like you never listened before.....and you are amazed at what people are clapping for. I out and out boycotting clapping, and I certainly got noticed for not doing it...........but to my amazement I was sitting with a cool group, by the afternoon session none of them were clapping like seals anymore..........after I talked with a few of them sitting around me and come to find out they are doing the fade........and said "we couldn't applaud for some of that crap.........we don't agree with it"..............so the feeling is mutual among many....

No more hand claps, please
by coolhandluke inat conventions especially, hand clapping annoyed me to no end.
the first day i was excited and really in the business of clapping and silently condemning those around me who didn't do so.
i even condemned those who i thought did not clap enthusiastically enough for my tastes.

Dominick, you put your heart on paper, very difficult for men to do. You did it with grace and dignity, and letting your family know the love and respect you have for them no matter what, shows what a great man you have become.................I thank you my friend for your words, they reflect alot of how we all feel here. We need each other, especially when our families choose religion over their human children.

Family tragedy.........HappyDad
by HappyDad ingot a phone call from my daughter who lives in florida a couple of hours ago.
her significant other who i chose to call my son-in-law (because he is the best thing to ever happen to her) got a phone call that his 6 year old daughter was killed in an auto accident near lake placid, florida and his 5 year old son is in very critical condition.
the ex wife is also critical.

To use an illustration of the Tower of Evil------------take a baking pan with a dent in it, use it to bake with and you will always have and imperfect cake...................No matter what I feel I have their teaching and reasoning popping up in my head..........I try hard to dismiss it, I go to shcool and mingle dare I say with "nice worldly people", but something always comes up that shakes my thinking..............I still get the magazines and we have alot of family in, they love us and are always trying to encourage us..................so I think I definitly feel damaged........but as I said in the past :I AM A WORK IN PROGRESS.

Where (Who) in the World is Hibiscusfire?
by Big Dog ini noticed that hibie hasn't posted since the dating thread where it was pointed out that she borrowed some of her material from other websites, blogs, etc.. hibie has quickly become a fixture here with her threads that draw responses like crazy and her unusual preaching style.
i don't think i am alone in wondering just who she really is since she seems to avoid all questions directed to her about who she is, how she came to this website, what she is trying to accomplish.. she has been called everything from mentally ill, to born again, to a troll by those on the board.. hibie, in all seriousness, i'd really like to know who you are and how you got here.
if you are a teenager having fun, that's okay, but some of the stuff on this forum isn't really appropriate for a younger teen.

Terry, I want the GOOD to be my reality. The PERFECT that the Tower teaches is unattainable as well as not real....................but it is only by baby steps that we accept the GOOD and reject the perfect new world............
When I reflect on the reality of Katrina, and all the destruction, I realize that is the result of our preaching the new order---------first we have destruction of a world wide scale, then we have the balls to think we will sit under a fig tree and feed a lion and say we are so happy to be in the New Order.............WAKE-UP PEOPLE..............see that destruction that is what you would be faced with---------------pain, suffering and sickness-----------God is not going to go poof you are in Paradise (false reality) You will have the task of cleaning up the destruction he will cause..................I'd rather be dead..............then live in their so called paradise............................FIND THE GOOD TODAY, AND LIVE WITH THAT, THIS IS THE REALITY............................

To All Of The Kids Who Survived the .....

they took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, tuna from a can, and didn't get tested for diabetes.. .
then after that trauma, our baby cribs were covered with bright colored lead-based paints.. .

Everything you said is so true, and we are better adults for that kind of upbringing. One thing that was apart of our daily lives, was WASHING DISHES BY HAND!!!!!!!!without gloves and lets not forget dishes from a big big family of kids.............we use to have to do them in team fashion, one washes and one drys, good laughs, good fights were had during that hour of work at 6pm.............there was most always a snapp with a wet towel to the one washing when you couldn't defend yourself..........it just makes me laugh thinking about it now..........
