at the risk of soundy mushy, i would just like to thank everyone for being a part of this board and making it what it is.
in the 14 years since i have been out of the b'org, i have pretty much had to deal with building myself back up by myself.
in the short time that i have been a part of jwd, i have realized that there was a lot of things that i had just repressed and locked away.
I have been out for 10 years! I just love coming to JWD and reading the different topics.

i have a friend who is a jw as is her husband.
she is stuck in a marriage with a man whom i believe has major mental problems and he is visciously abusive to her emotionally.
on two occasions he became physically violent with her as in he grabbed her and pinned her while he was yelling at her.
I am very sensitive to this matter. So please excuse me if I sound angry.
This exact thing happen to me with my 2nd husband, who by the way was an elder in the congregation. (Except he was beating me)
After going throught the local elders, calling my brother (who was an elder in another state), I contacted the HQ- Headquarters
of New York City and reported the incident to them.
When you contact the HQ, you need to tell the operator who takes the call to be connected to an elder.
The elder will ask you specific questions. Do not tell him that you are NOT a JW. Just explain that you would like to stay
anonymous.
The congregation will be notified of this incident and the local elders WILL HAVE to take action. (Because you reported to HQ)
Trust me! The outcome will not pretty for the husband!

PS: My husband continued to hit me after they removed him from being an elder. So I took things into my own hands and beat the shit of him with a peice of wood. I told him, 'don't you ever hit me again, or don't go to sleep at nights.' He left that night and I never stepped foot into a kingdom hall since.
i have finally sent my official disassociation letter to the local kh.
now i no longer have to keep watch for a car pulling up in front of my house on saturdays.
im free, im free.
Jt Stumbler,
Congratulations to you! Now since you have made your decision...it will feel like a whole lot of weight is off of your shoulders.
love dee
this is my first chance to post here since last thursday, so here it is.
amanda and i arrived at approximately 5:45 pm, and parked in the walmart parking lot.
amanda bought a folding chair and something to eat, as she just got off work.. we walked across the street to the kingdom hall and stood on the shoulder of the road.
Junction-Guy and to the others who were there....way to go!!!
Loved what your signs said and exposing the 'real truth'.

with all new episodes!
let's go back to the good ol' days when they filmed 30 episodes per season.
it was great!
This is such a great show...I just love it! Was at my neighbors eating desert and having a glass of wine (when I looked up and saw the time). Told them, 'hey thanks for the invite, but I got to go because Desperate Housewives are on soon!
I thought it was so funny when Gabrielle was jogging and stole the potty. haa

according to my little cousin who was (never) one of jehovah's witnesses, i have been doing my (research) wrong.
he told me that if i wanted to find out information about the watchtower and the united nations, then i would need to start typing in (numbers) instead of letters and words into my search engines.
here is what he told me!-----see below:.
Wow, checked it out and your little cousin knows what he is talking about! The Watchtower of Jehovah Witness was listed.
Thanks for the information

man i hate the predicament that this religion has put me in.
i love my mom so much and to hear her cry is the worst thing in the world.
it's so frustrating when she thinks that things are so bad b/c i'm dfd.
Hello Jaredg,
My son did the same thing last week. He even said, 'come back, get reinstated and then we can have a relationship.' I'm not going back, b/c I would have to give up all the things that make me happy! haa
My personal opinion is that this 'shunning' is harder on them than it is on you. You hang in there!
Dee
well - this is my first post.
i want to express my gratitude to all of you in jwd land for the help you provide.
i'd be glad to relate stories, and experiences in the future, but wanted to introduce myself first.
Wecome, we're in the same boat... because I am new to this site.

.
i don't talk about my family very much on here, but today i feel i have to, because today after all the years of pushing, finally there is a result.. thanks to life & the universe and everyone on jwd, who by simply existing have helped in a way that i don't know how to write.. today is the day my mom stopped going to meetings.. i won't go into loads of detail at this point because it's very involved, but it's done.
my dad is an elder and is still going, but my mom is out now.. thanks
That is great news!
