Did the elders ask for sexual details at your Judicial meeting?
by kid-A in.
i personally know of two cases where the witness being disfellowshipped was asked to provide excruciating details about the exact nature of the "sex crime" that they had committed.. having read the secret elders manual "pay attention to yourselves and all the flock" i know this is standard operating procedure for a judicial hearing.
for those that were disfellowshipped for a "sex crime"

After hearing JT's experience of being an elder and attending this particular JC....that is why I never attending my JC meeting. The last thing that I wanted was to be interrogated with detailed sexual questions. Because I did not attend the two JC meetings..they df'd me.
well she came back into the room and sat down and the questions started again in a few min and at this point she refused to answer anymore questions LIKE THAT and she told us she would not answer THOSE TYPES OF QUESTIONs
"Girl Friend" picked up her bag and walked out
She was so smart for picking up her bag and leaving!

Hello Everyone, My First Time
by butterfliorchids inhi, i just got registered and am looking forward to getting to know others who have escaped from the controlled environment that i was so faithful to for so long.
i hope to meet others with similar backgrounds.
i've been out about 4yrs and love the feel of it, but to be honest, as much as a definiate decision it was on my part, there was still a long time of adjustment.

What were you disfellowshipped for?
by Kristofer ini recently had a discussion with a witness friend (i'm a secret) and she claimed that witnesses only get disfellowshipped for being unrepentant for immoral acts.
i am curious to know from those who have been disfellowshipped, what was it for?

Was df'd for immorality - living with my boyfriend, before we got married.
What I thought was interesting was the fact that I had not been to a meeting for over 2 years and they searched me out to df'd me. My understanding, at the time, was that if an individual was out for a 'period of time' they could not be dealt with judicial. It is only when the person decides to come back that they are dealt with by the elders. ( I could be wrong about that. Abviously, I was. Thought there was a letter received by the body of elders explaining persons being out for a 'period of time' and how to deal with them)

Watchtower exposed - video
by truth_about_the_truth in.
this looks kind of dated but it's really good..

That was long...it was worth watching it entirely.
When watching this video, it is hard to believe that I was a part of the WBTS for 19 years. You really don't see the whole picture until you step away from it all and then you can see how distructive this religion is to so many people.
Thanks for posting this video.

Nathan Knorr and Bethel Life in the seventies
by Boxed elder bugs inwhen i was at bethel in the 70's the president of the watchtower society nathan knorr was really unpopular among a lot of bethelites because he supported the four year oblligation for bethelites to stay at bethel and stay single for four years.
i had heard that over nintey percent of the people who left bethel fell away from the jw religion afterwards, i was among that number, and i had heard that the majority of people who came to bethel did not keep there four year commitment but left in less than a year, i know the majority of people i started with lasted about a year at bethel, i was dumb enough to stay at bethel three and one half years.
i guess it was because i was raised in the witnesses and didn't know what to do after i lost my faith in that religion while i was there.

That was so funny! That brought memories for me.
When I use to ride the subway into Washington D.C, every moring there was an Asian man who would get on the redline and orange line trains and start to sing (very, very loud) all of them Christian songs. (I do have to say, that he had a beautiful voice)
One morning he started with his singing and someone yelled out....'NOT THIS MORNING!' He stopped singing, smiled and bowed towards the people on the train. Next stopped, he jumped off and ran up to sing for another group. haa
