  New member, question thats been asked many times, but how do you feel ?

  i came across this site, and while still my upbringing says i should stay away from such site, i had to join.

  a bit of a background about me.

  i'm 31, my parents became witnesses when i was born so they could give me the best upbringing they felt possible.

  Welcome Greyeyes....It sounds like your girlfriend is caught up in the warm-fuzzy feeling that she received when she went to the KH. ( I know how that feels when people swarm around you the first time you walk into a KH )

  Your Girlfriend is also educated and is searching for answers about the bible...you and everyone on this site knows that the JW's have an aswer for everything. ( Usually, 'the Watchtower says this and the Watchtower says that' )

  As the many post before me stated....she can also find a wealth of information right here. You can look under Action: Jump to: CHOOSE - FORUM RELATED - LINKS. I think that in that section you can find related liks to other websites which have been very informative to me.

  let me start out by saying this will be a sad topic.

  but i want to ask and seek support.. about two years ago my first daughter was stillborn.

  i was almost 42 weeks pregnant with her.

  My experience was the reverse of yours. My mom died of cancer and not long after that I found out that I was pregnant and lost it.

  It was hard to get through it only because there are messages around you all the time. I never realised all the commericals on TV about babies. When I went to the store...seeing all the magazines on the racks talking about parents and babies. So just when I thought that it was going to be a good day...right around the corner would be another message.

  I found that there were two things that helped me....1.) talking to my friends and verbally expressing how I felt 2.) writing out my feelings in a journal.

  Welcome Sabrina,

  and even now, I struggle with the brainwashing and the conditioning that has been done throughout my entire life.

  You are so correct with that statement. It takes awhile to get the whole JW thinking 'out of your system.'

  Even though I have been out of the religion for 10 years, I have found comfort at this forum. The people here are so nice, understanding and they can relate to ever thing that you are going through. Throughout the years, when I tried talking to neighbors or friends at work about the JW's, they don't understand.

  Everyday I jump on this forum to read the different post and sometimes to make a comment.....it's additive! haa

  for an oldie i'd pick audrey hepburn singing moon river ... mmnnnn, i never get tired of that.. currently i'm listening to norah jones an aweful lot.

  she is very easy on the ears and is my "audible-heaven" right now.. so who's voice makes you 'melt' ?

  the 14 year old jw girl from vernon, bc, has just lost her court case in the bc supreme court in vancouver to not have blood transfutions.

  30...who woulda thunk it

  well i did it...i actually made it to age 30. today, april 12th 1975 i was born and i am still trying to full comprehed the feeling that comes along with it.

  my office threw me a party and i am having another one on fri, more the drunken type of gathering.

  it is a good week but a part of me will never fully be able to comprehend the simple feeling of "birthday" lol..anyhow..i'm still alive!

  Watchtower study - so long and so boring

  i remember going to sunday meetings...the public talks went by fast (sometimes).

  but the watchtower study to me was so boring and not interesting at all.

  it felt longer than the public talk.

  I was well prepared for the Watchtower Study...ready to be called on. Both of my children had to have 2 paragraphs ready to comment on. (which my son wasn't to thrilled about) So for me, the WS went by pretty fast.

  I seemed to like it best when we had a Watchtower Study conductor who was funny or made comments which made the time go by fast.
