I've noticed there are a lot of JW's in good standing on here these days... i know its a small sample but it seems promising.
any current circuit overseers/district overseers post on here, that would be crazy
i think its pretty cool actually

does anyone else here feel that they have to be 'perfect' & have a great life & never make any mistakes now they are not a jw, just to prove to all the jws that they made the right decision?
or am i the only one?
i know what you mean. I know my family would never want something bad to happen to me but if something did they would immediately chalk it up to being away from God. when i first left years ago my mom even hit me with the dog-vomit scripture a few times - that hurts. but the fact that me and my family are happy and doing so well is actually a reverse-witness if you will. i kind of see it as an opportunity to show them that people out of the org are normal and happy.
Would Jesus have shunned any member of his family? I asked my Dad that question and we've had a normal relationship ever since.
Has anyone tried this with their family?
had other things to deal with.. .
i was just wonder ing whose going to the memorial this year.. i got this email from my uncle today and i've decided i'm going only so my kids can see their family.
if you love jehovah miss your extended family want your children to have everlasting life its not hypocritical.
By the way i have to agree with Skully. why does he lay the blame on you when they are the ones shunning you?

no i'm not, i dont want to give my family any false hope, plus its numbingly boring and i'd rather watch march madness or an infommercial for that matter.
i know i just made one post, but i have another.. after the conversation with my bf tonight, i finally gave in and said i would sit down with a jw.
i don't beleive the bs for one moment.
i don't see the point in doing this, but if it will make my bf happy i'm willing to do it.
If you bring up controversial things like 607,1975,generation of 1914, blood, child abuse they may label you an apostate and refuse to talk to you. I remember on service JW's were always suspicious of people who knew too much.
anybody heard this new talk going around at the moment - it is the last talk on sunday afternoon and it is about depression?
WOW! there must have been a spike in suicides for them to finally come around. i hope its no too late for my sister.
hello my dear friends:.
i just wanted to let you know that my wife was admitted today to the hospital.
as you know she is 32 weeks pregnant with our son and unfortuanely, is very low on amniotic fluid.
my first child had the same problem but it caused no complications later, except they had to deliver a few weeks early. 33 weeks is far enough along that the baby would be fine even if they had to deliver now. mine was born at 35 and like i said, no problems since. good luck.
tonight i heard one of the most cruel and twisted comments i've ever heard at the platform.
the topic was the apocalypse and whether or not children will be slaughtered.
through one side of his mouth, the po stated that the bible is not clear on the matter, while out the other side he pointed to all those old testament accounts where children were killed.
Go to hell!-Schizm
wow! is that the latest new light, the WTS believes in hell now?
sorry if my comments hit too close to home.
if a jw states that 607 bce is incorrect, how long will it take before the elders announce from the platform to the congregation that the person is "no longer one of jehovah's witnesses"?
.
.
What a choice is there, the smart money is on 607
based on what? the other dates you listed are very close to each other which would leave a logical person to conclude that the majority of evidence points to that 3-4 yr time frame and yet 'smart money' is on a date out of left field? WTF
