What should I do about my brother??? I'm going insane.
by sonnyboy ini'm at my wit's end right about now.. my 24 year old brother is staying in my home as a roommate.
when i bought the house 5 years ago everything was fine; he helped with the housework, cut the grass, and was fair with the amount of 'house food' he'd consume.. time changes everything.
he now does nothing inside the house: no dishes, no vacuuming, no dusting, no anything.

do they put a disclaimer like "based on biblical events, some names have been changed, blah blah" like movies do?

Should an Elder be involved in any of the following????
by pr_capone ini am asking for a simple opinion here.
according to the latest jw "laws", should and active witness, much less one serving as an elder, do any work for military institutions such as the air force, navy, and u.s. army?
i submit the following link http://besappraisals.com/john.html (please copy and paste).

i thought the new rule was along as you werent a military member everything else was up to your conscience now, cuz dont they even let people in other countries do their mandatory military service as long as they arent combatant jobs?

maybe i'm naive but i doubt they would ever make it a d/f offense but it will undoubtedly put you in the spiritually weak class, ie no "privileges"

Ive faded too successfully !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
by vitty inwe moved nearly 2 years ago, quite a way from our old hall, and only attended our new hall for 6 months before we started to fade.
so we have never had a elders visit and we didnt have time to make friends, so our fade has been very successful here.. the only problem is, my family dont know we dont go anymore, which is a problem when they visit, cos we have to get around the "are we going to the meeting when we visit?
" we have managed to get around it one way or another .

you could always give the standard depression answer but that might reinforce the perception that people who leave have something wrong with them

I never really felt a desire to go back to the JWs because my reasons for leaving werent so much about doubts about their teachings but doubts about religion in general, however I didnt really know about the extent of their deception until I read this site and a few others. Now it just makes me feel really sorry for my family who are still in and completely hopeless it seems.

JARACZ MAKES REFORM IMPOSSIBLE. SCHISM IS NEEDED.
by jomac in"to any would-be reformers who read this, since ted jaracz is an accused child molester on the governing body of jehovah's witnesses and the rest of that body or board refuse to not support him, reform is impossible.
i recommend you schism, meaning set up an associating group of bible fellowships entirely freed from such persons.
emerson, kansas.

I think reform is inevitable. In the grand scheme of things JW is still a baby religion if it is to survive it must adapt or it will be pushed further and further to the fringe.

i love reading the assembly report posts because like everyone else i can picture the exact things that are described as is nothing has changed in the last 10 years, what drives me crazy about it is how my family cant see that its the same recycled BS
