  New Here Sorta

  i stumbled across this site last august and created an account but a series of events led me to run away (i can post the story if you like) and i have been moving around a bit until i finally got settled some.

  along the way due to my mother's sheltering i had some bad experience because i didn't know as much about the real world as i should have.

  i ingested as i have before a psychoactive one night and a surge of memories came rushing back to me of my childhood and a massive handfull of them were tied to the time i was made to endure going to the kingdom hall and socializing with many members outside of.

  so after a very, very slow process, thinking over things that were stored in a little box in a corner of my mind, i've decided to finally confirm or deny all the doubts i've had about the society.

  i'm a 34 year-old married man, work as an it consultant, with two kids, ages 9 and 2. i was "born" in the organization.

  so i took everything as true, never questioned anything, and did all that was asked from me.

  how sorry i was to hear from dansk-he is going through a very difficult time.. i would like all prayers, thoughts, please keep this in mind ____ for me!!!!.

  the sad news he has cancer.it is lymphoma!!!

  they are waiting on the results of the biopsy before determining treatment..... he didnt want me to say anything at first- as he feels you all have your own problems & he didnt want to upset anyone-because he says "they are dear friends".

  hello everyone... i am returning after vanishing from this place over a year.

  i don't recognize anyone, sorry :s i grew up in arnprior, ontario of canada, which is not far from ottawa, the capital city of the country (the place i live now).

  i was raised in a strict witness upbringing until i was 15, when i got loose finally.

  Welcome, Rune. Looks like you were leaving WTS about the same age as I was converted to it. I was 17 when I converted. Believed everything they told me. After a few years I began to have doubts which continued until last year when I gained access to the internet and got on this forum. After that, my mind cleared and I never went back.

  I read the book and saw the movie. I liked the movie better than the book. Movie critics said Hanks' performance as Langdon was dull. In the book Langdon was dull so I guess the movie followed the book pretty closely. Anyway, I liked the movie and even though I had already read the book, I found it worth seeing on the big screen.
