i can't think of many benefits of growing up a a dub but i do remember that i always viewed the other dub kids as brorthers and sisters and they became my support system amongst the "worldly people".
i remember going into a new neighhood or a new school and knowing that once i met the dub kids there, i would automatically have friends and i would not be alone.. this was especially comforting to me because i was an only child, and many times i entered into a new school not knowing anyone and sometimes being the only black kid in the class, my dub peers made me feel welcome and accepted me into the circle immediately.. for many years i feel special to be part of this worldwide brotherhood, and i am sure it is the reason why now i am inafriad of changes and/or new surroundings.. did you have similar experiences?.
I wish I could say that I had intant friends because they were witnesses as I was growing up.
Unfortunately however my father was 'unbelieving' so my mother, siblings and I were habitually excluded by the congregation when it came to forming frienships or social activities. And trust me damn well tried too.
tonight was the school/service meeting at the kh, and myself and dedpoet drove there at the end of the meeting to see the po.
we didn't go in the hall, we just waited outside the gates for the po to come out, then i handed him my letter, saying it was to get things over with and save the necessity of a jc.
he didn't ask what it was, i think he knew, especially when he saw dp give me the thumbs up sign, but asked me to reconsider, but i said my mind is made up, i am leaving, and i want it out in the open as soon as possible.

Ooooh Dezi... I forgot about Steve's party!
Did you have fun? Did you dress up? That's very cool
.
the international convention can now be attended by those who are only 19 and in good standing.. this is the third time the society has relaxed their requirements for those attending.
very unusual, i guess they could not fill the rooms.. oc
I'm assuming that anyone NOT in good standing finds meetings/assemblies/conventions/witnessing utterly boring and resent it anyways.
I bet they don't give a flying toss about going to international conventions!

Alas SkinnyBoy if only I had consulted you for your wise words BEFORE I made my bets... sob sob
Hiya Dezi... this is the only time I have bet on the races. I've been to the races before and LOVE it... All the glamour and the drinks and the social classes that I will never fit into he he he... But Australia pretty much stops what it does on the First Tuesday in November at 3pm every year... and listens to the race. It's a pretty big event but I'm not sure why. Not only did I not win at the TAB I didn't win any of the office sweepstakes either. It sucks arse I tell you!

Likea Falcon to win/place.
So all excited I made my way to the TAB for the first time in my life and dolled at my money.
The race has just been called and my horse did not win. Did not place. it is a tragedy.
I am so cranky with that horsey! I was calling out to it run faster! Run faster! but alas alack it just didn't run fast enough.
Ah the evils of gambling. Must be the great Jehoba trying to learn me a lesson.
news and pictures at eight!
don't be expecting nothin' fantastic!
I like your new avatar.... LIfe does suck when your spoon is too big!
to all those that have pet cats and/or dogs, what do you feed them?
it is said that tinned cat/dog food is made with all sorts of horrible things such as anything from an animal that's not fit for human consumption, intestines, spleens, blood, hide, plus dead animals, feathers chemically treated to become digestible protein and rancid discarded oils from restaurants.
cheap cereal fillers are added to lower production costs.
We prepare all the food for our puppys. It works out healthier and cheaper. We never have problems with their droppings either. ie I mean yucky runny ones.. ewww!
Food we include is chicken lamb beef or mince. pasta rice or cous cous and some mushed up cooked vegies like carrots peas beans. We then add some dry kibble which has extra vitamins and things our puppys need.
