The best work out I get is from an Elliptical Machine. You work the legs, arms and get your heart rate pumping. The beauty is that you don't have any impact from stepping up and down as you would on a treadmill.

Oh god this stinks
by restrangled in.
my son just informed me that his grandfather left him and his brother, (his only grandsons) , money for their education.. i had no idea, of the amount but it did make sense to me...a suposed $50,000.00 but the will was on a small personal computer and promptly erased by someone in my mom's kh at her request.. she has in the mean time shunned me, and low and behold sent $200,000.00 to the society.
this tires me beyond belief.. thanks for listneing....i am feeling crazy!.

Would such a "will" be valid? I've never heard of such an option. How would it be witnessed and signed by those witnesses?
I don't think that is the main issue. I think that they would wilfully go against a person's dying wishes is what is at issue. What sort of a person does that?

How did you find this out?
That's terrible! I am shocked beyond belief. How absolutely callous. I am assuming it wasn't a legal will that the grandfather had in place it was just a request? But still. I can't believe it?
Nerds - can this sort of activity recorded anywhere on the hard drive and retrievable?
I wouldn't let this one go if I was you. I'd fight it and let them be shamed publicly for what they have done.

i bring this up because there was a 91-year-old woman baptized at the rome convention a couple of weeks ago.. was there someone that old (or close to being 91 years old) immersed at a convention you went to?

we had an 89 year old man get baptised. He was contacted from the door to door work. He died not long after his baptism.
I wonder if he was just worried because he knew his time was up and was seeking religon, just in case?

How many 'real" friends did you ever really have in ther "truth'
by The Lone Ranger insure we got to know a lot of people, we knew a lot more people then the average person, but how many real friends did we ever have?
a friend that we could trust, that we could confine in.
i can say i had just one, bro x and even then i still had to be careful, bro x is an elder now and he tells me that im the only real friend hes ever had, he cant freely talk to anyone.

Well there is my best friend who posts here as well. He goes by the name of Chuckie and has a rugrat as his avatar. He was a real friend and still is.
I had some amazing friends in the 'truth'. We were so close. I loved them dearly and feel confident that it was reciprocated equally. When I started fading I didn't want to put them in an uncomfortable position so I cut my ties. I know it would cause them immense guilt to associate with me on a social level when I wasn't attending meetings or going witnessing.
Had I not cut my ties and tried to maintain the relationships would they have been there? I can't say. My gut tells me no. They haven't made efforts to keep contact with me, even if to invite me to the memorial. Sad but true.
I still grieve for the friendships I lost with those people. I am still searching for friends like that.

God's Name
by Wordly Andre inmy wife (lifetime nonjw) has never been around any jdubs her whole life, until she met me and my crazy family.
today i was reading some of the posts from this website, and she asked me why do jw call god jehovah and not just god or lord, isn't that like calling your own father by his real name?.
i remember when i was a kid i said lord once and my dad corrected me and said jehovah, why is that?

Andre - if i recall correctly... in the congregations I attended they theory went that if you used his personal name then you could have a personal relationship with him.

When i was a kid my mom told me if a stranger told me to get in the car with them because my parents told him to pick me up, then I was to ask the stranger for the codeword.
Of course it was Jehovah.
Oh my god. just spat diet coke out all over my desk! I'm sorry - no offence intended... I just find that incredibly amusing.
