What a Prat!

this evening mrs ozzie and i went to our favorite local restaurant - it's out in the outer suburbs, a lovely small thai restaurant - well, any food eaten with chopsticks is okay with us!.

anyway, we entered and there at a middle table sat a family of three - father, mother and daughter.

nothing unusual about that except, well it was the badge card that caught my eye.

That always confounded me. I can just see it. Non JW's dining at restaurant. Some family comes in dressed to the nines and wearing JW badges. Non JW sits there and goes 'Wow they stick out like a sore thumb. I want to know how I can too!!!' LMAO... Yeah right!!!! They had the convention here on the weekend too. I went out of town so missed out on all the excitment... Ha ha..

I think im depressed AGAIN!

the last few months have been really tough for me there have been many problems with my fiances family and even with my fiance for that fact.

although things are fine now, im not happy i cant seem to get excited bout life.

im getting married in nov, going to be trying for baby no 2 going to fiji in feb....so you see i have lots to be excited bout but im just not.

You poor little pumpkin. That's a horrible way to feel. Especially when you know it is contrary to your nature. Being unable to snap out of it just exasperates the problems also. :(

Have you got a good network of friends close to you? Sometimes just having friends spend time with you can reaffirm what a great girl you are and give you the lift you need. I need my friends to help me get through life.

I wish I could wave my wand and help you through this but its not magic... We luv you here anyways and I hope you are feeling better VERY soon!!!

I was raised in the 'lie'. It was all a new. I was scared of what was outside the circle of Dub land. They told us often enough how horrible it was and how unhappy people were. I had no friends that weren't JW's either. Since venturing out I have been the happiest I have ever been. Not one of my JW 'friends' keep in contact with me because what they offer is conditional. My new friends will be friends for life.

i had a conversation the other day with a relative - we started talking about death and so on, so forth.

i havent been attending for almost 3 years now and really havent been harrassed too much - just ignored.. i stopped attending meetings for a number of reasons, a few were belief differences which i knew would become trouble, but the main reason why i couldnt attend anymore is i felt fake.

but i felt that people only wanted to associate with me because we shared one thing and one thing only....a belief.

There are several things in your post you mentioned that would upset me too.

But that one takes the cake. What about all those sisters who married 'brothers' in the troof and get the living daylights beat out of them. I'd like to know her explanation on that.

Which meetings did you hate the most?

out of the 5 weekly meetings, here are the ones i hated the most.. in order.

1. theocratic ministry school ( i hated speaking in public) got me so nervous.. 2. service meeting ( too much crap and statistics and presentations).

3. the book study ( just a waist of time ).

blah the meetings. I never had a favourite to hate - I just disliked them all. Here's my take on them...

Sunday Public Talk - Same old crappola spewing out over and over again. Way to bore me to tears. I spent most of these meetings writing notes in my notebook to my neighbour...

Watchtower Study - An opportunity for the elders to make us all feel worthless and guilty for not answering up. I just didn't have the motivation. I spent most of these meetings trying to make my friends doing mics and WT reading laugh.

Ministry School - If I had an assignment spending most of the school in a panic constantly reviewing my notes. If no assignment being bored silly at the bro's on the stage thinking they were espousing nuggets of gold... sigh

Service meeting - the talks were short. thank goodness. I hated the announcements. either give us more money or where are your reports.

Bookstudy - These were on a Thursday late night shopping. I couldn't go. Need I say more?

Australian laws on this matter are insane.

They won't reveal or alert if a known sex offender moves into your area in case s/he ends up getting abused or something. The law says that they have to report to their local police station when they have moved somewhere and give them their contact details, address, place of employment etc.

They ACTUALLY are protecting sex offenders!
