as you know, my twin daughters, recently got baptised.
they are now shunning me.
i hadn't seen them in person for about 3 weeks.

I am so sorry to hear that you are going through this. I hope that your twins will eventually realise what an important role you play in their lives and stop this ridiculous shunning.

littlerockguy's recent post about paying for his medical care in the usa got me thinking about something i've pondered over for a while before realising you lot here probably have the answer.
because of all the treatments i've been having it has made me mightily glad i live in the uk and the bill is paid for by the national health service.
therefore, any medical treatment i receive is free.
We have a medicare levy here in Australia.
Depending on your total gross taxable income at the end of the financial year a medicare levy is included in your taxes.
If you earn over $50,000.00 or are over the age of 30 you then also have a medicare surcharge of $700 to pay. UNLESS you have private health insurance and then you are exempt from the surcharge. Private health insurance can be quite minimal depending on what you get. If you want the works you can pay about $100 a week. I pay less then $10 a week. Much cheaper than the actual surcharge!
i've just had a telephone conversation with my wife about 1/2 an hour ago.
we have had a visit from the local jw's this morning.
from the upstairs window my wife conducted a brief conversation where she basically told them thst she wasnt the best person to speak to, as her husband used to be a jw.

Keep in mind it depends upon the JW's attitude that called there as well.
When you think about it they just sprout out those words without thinking... Its the way they have been trained...
They may be just going out in field service because they have to and have little dedication to it. They may very well not even bother to mention it to the elders....
I guess you will have to wait and see... AND... you have to report back to us if anything happens!

i was raised a witness but never baptised and left when i was 17 causing my father (among other reasons) to be "demoted"?
from being a ministerial servant.
for a very very long time i didn't talk about it and only recently started getting involved in the local ex-jw meet ups.

I never thought an Aussie would like a LI iced tea!
After reading about them in books and hearing references about them from American tv shows and movies all my life I was dying to try one out.
Last year I went to my first ever christmas party and it was an OPEN BAR... I took advantage of the situation and tried a LI Iced Tea. Then I tried another... and another... and another...
You get the general idea... HIC!

yesterday i saw something i've never seen before.
a protestant church on the left side of the road has a sign saying it's their 50th anniversary.
there is a rc church right across the street.

hello to all, i was raised pretty much as a jw and became one of the super goodie two shoes type, you know......didnt even swear when i was alone.. im now disfellowshipped and since i followed the guideline of not having friends outside the organization i now find myself completely alone, my friends are all jw's and none of them can talk to me.
so now i feel lost....on another planet almost .
I am sorry to hear that you are feeling like that Michelle. Loneliness is one of the most awful feelings.
MsMcducket offers some good advice. You have a lot of time on your hands now so enjoy it. Do you have any interests? Like art/craft, writing, sport? Could you join a local club or group and particpate and expand your interest in these activites? It would be a great way to meet people with similar interests.
