JWs are a tiny minority of Christians preaching the gospel throughout the World. Unlike some Christians JWs do not preach the Gospel that the Apostles or early Christians preached. Although the Bible says the gospel would be preached to all the world then the end would come, this timing issue was not the actual gospel message. A suggestion. Instead of asking questions, without having time to study the suggested answers, how about investing even half the time already invested in studying with JWs, studying in similar depth the alternative explanations of each doctrine.

Hi Holly
I've just joined & feel about where you are at. I was brough up a catholic, then senevth day adventist - pure Bible but diff interpretations on some points. Adventists thought up many of the current JW doctrines & gave them to Russell. I have tried several churches since then, but mostly stayed away from all. Still don't attend anything. Someone suggested a book by Ray Franz. His "Crisis of Conscience" and "In Search of Christian Freedom" were a revelation to me when my best mate was preparing for JW baptism (due in June) Franz was the guy who set up the JW governing body in its present role. He is sincere and forgiving despite what they did to him. He clearly loves and lives the Bible and helps me find some real answers. His books give the alternative understanding for all JW doctrines. It has really made me think. If you find the truth Holly please don't forget to tell me about it. Til then I'll stick with The Bible & Jesus (without any human mediators or religion). All the best.

99.9% of people who believe in God will be destroyed by God
by JH inisn't that sad that all those people who put their trust in god, and did good deads to help one another will all die because they couldn't figure out the "riddle" of the true religion.. i see my old parents go to church (catholic) every week, and they truly believe that they will be saved.
is there a religion that doesn't think that they won't be saved?.
if the witnesses are right, over 99.99% of beleivers will die at armageddon, and 100% of unbelievers will die at armageddon.

The only thing I'm sure of, is that being saved can't have anything to do with being part of a particular religion or organisation. That's so obvious in the New Testamant, if you believe in the Bible. Who can say how many JWs will be saved - although the "other gospel..not that there is another" that they preach on doorsteps etc, must make it so much harder. Do those who mean well but spread the wrong message get saved? What do I know, I'm neither a JW nor saved, but I'm searching for truth.

What Is The Unpardonable Sin?
by JH in.
in your words, what would be the unpardonable sin?
give examples.... .

I don't know the answer from the Bible, but when I was a Seventh Day Adventist as a teenager (long time ago) I think they taught it was repeating the same sin without real repentance, and real intention to change - just paying lipservice to repentance...or something like that.

On blood, I believe we need to ask the why about abstaining. You've read the context so it should be quite clear. It is clearly about not eating blood, out of respect to the life lost by the animal. It was to be poured out (not so it couldn't be stored, but so it couldn't be eaten). A JW once told me its also because bllod symbolises life. Occasionally it is the only way to save life. What would Jehovah God want, to put the symbol of life above the reality of a child's life. Please imagine what Jesus would have said if faced by that dilemma. I honestly believe the JW leadership now understand the error of their doctrine - thats why its being diluted. They can't reverse it though, they won't admit mistakes unless they must. There is also the small matter of litigation...

I can't stay long too.
The Witness Gospel work represents less that half of 1% of all Gospel missionary work going on in the World. Other Christian groups use more varied methods, and have translated to hundreds of more languages than JWs. Early Christians did not preach by going door to door (house to house is about taking lofdgings with Christians) while traveling with the gospel message. On preaching the Gospel, what JWs preach on doorsteps is not the Gospel message preached by Paul & the early Christians. Please read Galatians, in its full context. This is consistent with Romans, Corinthians etc etc. Paul opposed even Peter for departing from the true Gospel. Please consider what the true message of the gospel was and is. The message itself wasn't about the last days, on which JWs place undue emphasis. Of people who say "the time is very near now" Jesus counselled "never follow men like that". Many many new testament verses stress salvation by faith, not works. Good works (deeds) would naturally follow from faith & love. Please consider what the message of the gospel really is from Galatians etc. When read without telling you what it means, I believe the truth almost jumps of the page at you.
You are not an enemy for thinking JWs may be right. but if you were, How did Jesus teach us to treat our ememies.
How many times is Armageddon mentioned in the Bible, How many times is Jehovah mentioned in the NWT Bible, the answer is non in all 5000 ancient surviving Greek Christian scriptures. But even if the NWT is right, it is between 200 and 300. Wheras Jesus or Christ is mentioned about 1,500 times in New Testament. Is the emphasis of Christ more about love or negative world events. There are many Christians preaching the true Gospel, but who don't claim inside information from God, only his Word - that is enough.

1ST Century Christian Congregation
by defd inwhat would you have done back in the 1st century when jesus came on the earthly stage and started christianity.
would you have became his follower?
that is not the only congregation that had people problems.

Hi
The new Covenant did away with the whole concept of law keeping and rules, not just mosaic law. 2 or 3 gathering is a congregation, Christanity is an individual thing. How often does New Testament say salvation is not by works, but by faith. A free gift - how can a free gift from undeserved kindness be earned by good works. Only in James does it say faith without works is dead. But James wasn't writing about salvation. Good works naturally follow from faith and love.

Hi all,
I recently saw a Joseph Rutherford quote saying that "religion and Christianity are the exact opposite of each other". Perhaps he meant that Jesus recognized the Pharisees were very religious, following laws and rules. Earlier, Russell said that "organisation is wholly unnecessary" and true Christians needed no fence to keep others out and them in. He supported fellowship with other Christian groups using the Bible as their standard, even if they did not see eye to eye. Watchtower change its mind about religigion. Was this newlight or about tax concessions for religions.

HOW WOULD A WITNESS ANSWER THIS?
by Mary ini thought of a question i'd like to ask my sister-in-law (who's a fanatical dub).
i'd like to say to her: "...if it could be proven to you beyond any doubt that this was not the "one true religion", would you still go to the kingdom hall?...
i figure it's a catch-22 that really ought to make them stop and think.

I recently read a Joseph Rutherford quote "religion and christianity are the exact opposite of each other". I think Jesus recognised that the Pharisees were very religious, but...When did Watchtower change its mind on this? Was it when they needed to register as religions for tax benefits - new light eh?
