Well I always wondered about that myself, but think of when the flood came and the story in the Bible is that God created rainbows that day to remind people that NEVER again would be destroy the whole earth by a flood.

So we have a witness in the skies, the RAINBOW, that tells us that God will never destroy the whole earth again.

    JustTickledPink,

God said that He would not destroy the earth with a FLOOD again.

The 144 000 Israelites that are marked on their foreheads by God to witness to the truth of Jesus Christ. This witness will be given to the whole earth. And then the end will come. These Jews will sing a new song and they will be miraculously preserved by Christ through the trib. period.

These are called the first fruits to God and the Lamb. At the beginning of every harvest the people presented a token amount of the first and best fruits of the field as an offering to the Lord. This practice is used here to picture the conversion of the 144 000 Jewish witnesses. Like a corn kernel planted in the ground (the Lord) more than one kernel will spring forth from the ground (144 000). in this way an entire bundle of firstfruits can be waved in front of God. This picture would lead me to believe that these Israelites would be the first real "converts" during the trib.

The earth wasn't ruined at the time of the flood ... we live on it today, don't we????

Think maybe it was the wicked society that was destroyed at that time????

    Hi Holly!

Personally I would drop kick the Bible into oblivion, but that's just my opinion and I respect the 'believers'. To me it's a book that you beat people up with.

If you're looking for preachers though, there's Catholics, and their many missionaries all over the world and even Protestant missionaries over the world. Then you get to the evangelical, fundamentalist loonies. The Momons, the SDA, the JWs etc. The JWs just have a very big publishing company that makes millions in profit and lots of 'publishers' out making money for them, so they're only different from the others in their financial acumen. They don't however fit in with the question asked of Jesus, 'how will we recognise them' and his answer of 'their having love amongst themselves'..Now if he'd answered, 'they'll be making a hell of a lot of money...' I'd say, go join the JWs.

    But he didn't!

    holly:

In Matthew 24 Jesus was asked by his disciples what would be the sign of his presence. Read the whole chapter to fully answer your question.
