did anybody else hear the announcement made this week that for 2007 there will be a new version of the WT Library being made available? essentially its a cut-down version with simplified search capability wasn't listening all the way through but I think it will be additional to the standard version, also on the same CD.

Circuit Overseer headcount in UK
by besty inbriefly was party to conversation between elder and ms in our cong.
our po (mts graduate) has been made stand-in co at a recent school because...
15 'older' co's have been stood down as it were

slim:
no mystery/ambiguity here - 15 older CO's have retired and a number of younger standby CO's have been appointed.
two other posters on this thread have heard of new CO's being appointed recently and one other poster has heard of an older CO retiring. -

thinking about Metatrons post
"Perhaps part time C.O's/elders would be cheaper and safer for the money grubbing Theocrats to work with."
It may be that a larger bank of stand-in CO's and a reduction in fulltimers is a policy change.
Must be cheaper and more flexible - almost like an outsourced model.
They might move to an offshore model next :-) all CO's are 'live from India by teleconference' -

hi ozziepost - have read your posts with interest over the years ;-) definitely not an urban legend - elder i was talking with is well connected ex member of HLC etc. all information I have is that a number of new CO's were made - possibly stand-in CO's - and that 15 older existing CO's were retired - not judicial or anything like that

to clarify - 15 older CO's have been made 'redundant', and a batch of new younger ones appointed

Question regarding service time, irregular status, and inactive status...
by Check_Your_Premises inso let me see if i got this straight.... to be a publisher you have to have 10 hours a month.
if you miss that target you are "irregular".
if you miss that target for six consecutive months you are "inactive".. what if you get your time in but miss all the meetings?

besty
I fall into the 'go to most of the meetings but never report' category - PO has promised a shepherding call a few times but hasn't delivered yet. Been inactive for almost 2 years now.

how would you respond
by besty ini had a shepherding call a while back and expressed some doubts about the org.
one of the elders asked 'if you know what you know now, would you still have got baptised?
sensing a bit of a leading question, i ducked it by replying 'impossible to say'

thanks guys - funny thing was they had come round to 'encourage me to do more' - ended up with the Group being taken out of my house as it possibly wouldn't have Jehovah's spirit on it due to my attitude. Net result was me contributing less :-) made me laugh. Of the two elders that came round one died (shme nice bloke but misguided) and the other was the Head Boy (aka PO) and was removed and group taken out of his house shortly after. Not DF'd though - think he had gone round to shepherd a sister on his own - schoolboy error. Now we have an MTS parachute PO who is my study conductor and he has said he is coming round soon for a call ;-)

ye it seemed to similar to 'do you believe this to be Gods organisation?' I've been reading the posts here for a little while and was forewarned thankfully....
