OB, I think the Governing Body's attitude toward people who have come into contact with "Apostates" is much like the way the Europeans have done the diseased cow's.....just kill'em all! They don't want to keep people in who know too much...it's dangerous...they might infect the others!

i know what you are thinking so before i post some of his comments that i personally found interesting, i only went to keep peace in the family and not give rise to suspicion about my true feelings.
so with that said, here are some things that grabbed my attention.. 1) his talk thursday nite was about being successful and how the world's view of success is far different than the organizations.

would it be morally right to go back to the jws, even though she doesn't feel it is god's org?
she would do this in order to speak with her life long friends and her youngest daughter, all of whom are quite emotionally distraught due to her dfing.

Lisa....I feel for your mom....the most important thing is that her mind is now FREE.....and she needs to be true to her own heart....I almost hate to give advice on this one....but because I understand that "torn" feeling..I have to...I would say no to getting reinstated...why put yourself through all the hoops? It becomes a circus...and if she has to go in there and lie...what kind of life is that to live???? Not the greatest advice....just my thoughts. And tell your mom......we'll be her friends!!!!!

Does GB know 'IT' is a farce? - Yes!
by Amazing ingiven a comment on my brci sound bites, yet another, though now deceased, gb member also stated that the organization's teachings are a farce or fraud.
also, ray franz publications have throughly documented his views from the time he was on the gb and afterwards, as to what he thinks.
it seems that ray also mentioned in crisis of conscience that some of the gb felt that their 1914 doctrine was in serious error while he was there.

As far as this one goes.....I do think that the GB knows the religion is a farce....I have come to believe as well that it is a cult....The only difference is that they don't physically isolate members (unless you count bethel!) The scary thing is that they are still so effective! I liken coming out to stripping off many layers of old paint....layer by layer...you peel it off...stripping it down to the surface...I've been out 4 years and still have work to do!
The Governing Body knows.......but I think they have a lot of fear...and well...truthfully most of them are old...if they just hang in there they'll die out..and won't have to worry about it. Look at Ray Franz....he didn't exactly get a retirement package offered to him.
It is religious communism at it's finest....you can't disagree or speak out....if you do....it's to the firing squad you go (backroom)! I appreciate the time you put in to your posts...you're doing a good thing...

Interesting topic.....I had some good friend (who strangely enough no longer speak to me) who had a son who was disfellowshipped at age 16 or 17 hell maybe even 15.....the moral of the story is....she wouldn't even pray for him and less than two months ago....he (would have been about 25 or so now) hung hisself and I wondered if she believes he will be resurrected. I guess it doesn't matter that his father had been a wife abusing elder that never took any interest in him or his brothers after their mother divorced him or that his wonderful JW step dad was into porno...and got df'd....I guess all those factors in his emotional instablility didn't count....they df'd him and he couldn't deal....sad....I think God knows how we get to where ever we are in life better than we do and I think his compassion and grace...are larger than his wrath...just my opinon....

Sarah....great to hear from you.....I was a JW for 12 years and had never heard anything about not being able to have a tubal ligation....man that's deep and I know plenty of JW's who have had it done....man....talk about control...I disassociated myself almost 4 years ago...and have never even had a thought of going back...The freedom in wonderful. When I was a JW I had no concept of who God was..I was just in an organization....nothing spiritual about it. It's so great that you're out and you're now able to think independently.....(there' that dirty word!) I'm really glad that I got out before I had my baby, he'll never have to be tainted by their false sense of superiority! As far as the tattoo goes.....I got one almost 3 months ago...AND it's a zodiac sign! Do what makes you happy.....I think what's important the God is the way we treat other people.....that we be kind and loving to ALL people, not just the ones who happen to believe like we do....Take care...feel free to email me [email protected]. Basically their growth has come to a halt in the United States with exception to the Spanish congregations....The last year before I disassociated myself I was in a Spanish congregation......with tremendous growth....however, most of the people in the congregation didn't know how to even read or write beyond a 3rd grade level.....I guess this explains the growth!
