does god have a true church on the earth today?yes, and i will reveal it.it is the free will baptist church, which is true in every sense.they preach jesus, they study god's word correctly and rightly divide the word of truth.they are not led by a distant leader, they are led by their local leader chosen by god.if the sign out front doesn't say free will baptist then you are in the wrong church.look for that sign, and then you've found the right church.

st. augustine speculated that god exists outside of time.
this viewpoint would seem to make sense in our modern understanding of physics since time is dependent upon space; time is not an absolute, and it is not linear.
god, according to augustine and other theologians, sees all of history as one eternal present moment.
totally some thing to make me go hummm....
I do believe that God is outside of time (meaning that he doesn't feel time as we do with growing old and such) but I do believe that there has been a progression of things that have occured in the heavenly realms (in Daniel where dan prayed an the angle was delayed in giving him the answer, and where the devil (former angel) was spued from heaven, mentioned in rev. but happened before gen.) I do think that god as JC came to earth as our perfect attonement, taking on our time suits (bodies) so he would be a perfect canidate to deal with our type of sin.
A big giant Now is like when we were kids...everything was as we perceived it in the moment then.
i think the spirit (gloified body) world will be a bunch coasier than here.

i have been studying your faith and i understand that you believe in the bible?
1. in revelation 1:8, it says, ?
?i am the alpha and the omega,?
double posting sorry
i have been studying your faith and i understand that you believe in the bible?
1. in revelation 1:8, it says, ?
?i am the alpha and the omega,?
this is the reason I believe the trinity look at things but any way,
Revelation 1:8
(1) "I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty."
1. The use of the phrase, "who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty" has led to a debate. Is God the Father or God the Son referred to in verse 8? In the parallel passages of Rev. 1:17; 21:6; 22:1, Christ is equated with Almighty God. Yet, the Father is consistently identified with the same titles. Trying to decide which member of the Godhead is identified in verse 8 is impossible. It is as if both members are speaking at the same time. This may be closer to the truth John intends. This prophecy stands as the unanimous consent of God the Father and God the Son.
Revelation 21:5
(1) And He who sits on the throne said, (2) "Behold, I am making all things new." (3) And He said, "Write, for these words are faithful and true."
1. And He who sits on the throne said = is a direct reference to God the Father. This is one of the few direct references to the Father in the Revelation. The Father speaks.
2. Behold, I am making all things new = is a bit strange at first glance. One would think that given the context that this sentence would read, "I have made all things new." However, as it stands, it appears that God is still in the act of creating all things new.
3. He said, "Write, for these words are faithful and true" = applies to the whole book of Revelation and not just this section.
Revelation 21:6
(1) And He said to me, "It is done. (2) I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. (3) I will give to the one who thirsts from the spring of the water of life without cost.
1. And He said to me, "It is done?" = indicates completion. Unfortunately, it is not clear what is finished. In context, one would assume that God?s new creation is finished, but this is guessing.
2. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end = basically is two ways of saying the same thing. The phrase focuses on the absolute power and sovereignty of God.
3. I will give to the one who thirsts from the spring of the water of life without cost = is metaphorical way of referring to eternal life. What was promised for thousands of years is now fulfilled. Progressive sanctification finally results in absolute glorification.
Revelation 21:7
(1) He who overcomes shall inherit these things, and (2) I will be his God and he will be My son.
1. He who overcomes shall inherit these things = reiterates the promise. The overcomer gets "all these things." This refers to the list outlined in verse four above.
2. I will be his God and he will be My son = is singular, nevertheless it applies to all of those who are overcomers. This is a great promise. Overcomers will be adopted as "sons" of God. All the rights and privileges of sonship come with this promise. This is beyond human comprehension. The road from being the objects of ridicule and scorn to "sonship" is the heart of this revelation. We are sons of God.
Revelation 22:12-13
"Behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to render to every man according to what he has done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end."
Some use passages such as this to support a claim that the return of Christ to rapture the church to heaven is imminent (could happen at any moment). A position rendered nonsensical by 2000 years of human history. In what sense can the Lord?s return be termed "a quick coming?" Unless the term quick has changed, it cannot refer to time. It has been 2000 years since the Lord returned to Glory. Quick can refer to the manner of the Lord?s return. In other words, the Lord?s return will happen very quickly. The Lord emphasizes the quickness of His return because the level of suffering the believers will be experiencing during the persecution of Satan/Antichrist against the saints will be unparalleled. Once the Lord sets out to rescue the elect, it will happen very quickly ? in the twinkling of any eye!
this is how i see it!!! no so much a JW, but the other answers should show you how far they swayed from what it says!

questions, questions, and more questions.. did jesus (if he existed) have in mind starting a world religion such as has been created around him in his name?
if so, why did he not write the foundations for it, laying out it's laws and structure?
why did he only rebel and lead a rebellion against the old testement priesthood?
Two thoughts to this:
1) the reason why JC didn't write the stuff was because he didn't want to be an example for all the JW Leaders.
2) The Bible: God inspired, man written
and with the Trinity idea, Jesus is God so he put it all together

i was looking through the newest wt just to see what "new light" there is now.
i came across the questions from readers, and i was amazed by what i read.
from the may 15, 2005 wt, the question was "why were david and bath-sheba not put to death for committing adultery, whereas their newborn son died?
In those times children paid for the sins of the father. I honestly cant see this a okay but during those times, that was the way it worked. It was a sort of punishment for david because sons at that time were "inheritance" look in psalms or proverbs cant remember and girls were only "presents".
hope that helps understanding

can anyone give me their view on why the bible says that after job's children celebrated 'their day' he went out and made sacrafices to god in case they had sinned and cursed god in their hearts ?.
the first part is a great talking part especially regarding job being a rightous man but the latter tends to counter act it some how by impling that job thoughts were that birthdays were wrong, in gods eyes.
especially as he did this after every birthday, so i can't really debate that it was one off event that might have encured some wrong doing at one particular party........if you understand what i mean.. thanks for any iput.

i read somewhere on this board in that past that there were numerous examples in the greek scriptures in the nwt where the society translated "lord" that obviously meant jesus to the name jehovah to avoid problems with "trinity" doctrinal issues.. can someone point me to some research or examples regarding this.
i googled jwd but didn't really come up with anything.. .

Look at Psalm 110:1 "The LORD siad unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, unitl I make thine enemies they footstool." (King James Vesion)
Here it is only necessary to look at the text closer. Most translations render thr Hebrew tetragrammaton YHWH as "the LORD" (all caps), who is talking to the Psalmist's "Lord"(both cap and lower case), the Messiah. this does not disprove the trinity. The NT records many conversations between Jesus and the Father. The Bible reveals that the father is God (John 6:27) and that the son is God (ISA 9:6, John 20:28) yet ther is only one God (1 Cor. 8:4) Although this seems to contradict everyday human logic, are we right to assume that God must fit into the logical patterens with which we are familiar in the world around us? He is from the realms above; we are from the realms below. His ways are beyond our full understanding.
If there is still problem with the Father talking to the Son, look at Gen 18 and 19 in the New World Translation, here Jehovah appeared to Abraham as 3 men or angels. (18:1-2) Abraham addressed the thres as Jehovah (gen 18:3) Two left abraham and went toward the city of Sodom, but Abraham continued to address the reamianing individual as Jehovah (gen 18:22, 19:1). When the other two reached Sodom and spoke with Lot, he addressed the two of them as Jehovah (gen 19:18). And when the city of Sodom was destroyed, the NWT says at Gen 19:24: "Then Jehovah made it rain sulpher and fire from Jehovah, from the heavens..." So unless the JW want to claim there is more than one Jehovah, they will hve to admit that God can be in more than one place at the same time, and that he can hold simultaneous conversations with different people in different places. this can help grasp the Father talking to the Son with out calling into question the diety of Christ.

any suggestions?
i'd like to have several different ones, but what is a fairly good version to start using out of the gate?.
There are great varieties of them: to check them out go to http://bible.com/bible_read.html
they are listed by version and you can read them online.
I like the New Living Translation. This is the type of Bible i have and it has done me well and i compare it with the King James Version.
hope it helps!
