after further review and thought, i really don't see how removing a monument or statue that may be truly offensive to a large group of people is in some way rewriting history.. i think of germany or other parts of europe.
you don't see swastikas on buildings or statues of hitler or mussolini or other upper level generals in public.

I certainly do not believe in anything being defaced, but people in black areas are offended by anything that may seem to them to show sympathy for the old south. (I know it may seem unfair but the actions we are seeing are not rational.)..If anything, the poor statue should be preserved somewhere in a museum where it cannot be defaced.
I also agree that this attitude is totally out of hand and the left are showing themselves to be lawless animals who want chaos. They want to take all other statues down..I’m curious as to what ugliness they’d like to put in its/their places.. A hammer and sickle?

As for the confederate flag:..No offense to any southerners and no disrespect to their ancestors who fought, but the confederate nation was defeated in the Civil War. If anybody wants to hang the flag in their garage or in their den, that’s their business. But, it doesn’t really belong hanging in a public area. I can imagine this offends black people.
I know southerners never quite got over losing this war and animosity still exists. (I remember explaining this to a Polish immigrant friend years ago who wanted to know what the attitudes are around the country.)
As far as statues (Robert E. Lee) being torn down: whatever is put in its place had better be neutral and represent the whole population in general - and not some activist or terrorist..If so, then I hope the pigeons decorate it..

If that was my little girl and she said that to me, I would sit her down and explain as best I could about world history. I had this negative attitude happen to me in my life whether it was on jobs or elsewhere (even in the kingdom hall back in the day).
I just ignored it because it is not MY problem. I saw this in the hall by well-dressed blacks...Some white persons discussed with me the way they were treated: being ignored when they said Hello (or seeing eyeballs rolling).
I will meet people halfway and be friendly. unfortunately she is in poor health and unable to so so.. anyway, the story seems fabricated to me and i am wondering what is really going on.. does anybody have any ideas?

Yeah, I love it. They get food and suplies from wherever..in all likelihood paying nothing - then distribute them to their members - THEN tell the members to contribute the difference from their regular food bill.

Yes, people have long suggested this and I agree that the virus/lockdown with Witnesses going online and using Zoom is a perfect excuse for the religion to sell more halls.
But, I don’t think anybody has thought about the unintended consequences of there being few or almost no physical congregations to attend.. What about people who need ‘association’?..What about needy individuals in congregations looking for handouts?
There really needs to be a physically present congregation and real live people for somebody with an envelope to beg money from..What about bethelites who got dumped AND what about the possible new bumper crop of more bethelites who might be let-go when the religion realizes it needs even fewer of them?
You might say ‘well the elders can send texts and emails to people to cough up more money or ask who has extra rooms?’...Yes they could try that..but they’d get a lesser result compared to having members in person they can put on the spot.
It is not that I am personally concerned about these people - No, not at all. It is just the sad fact that those who sacrificed so much are the ones who are going to suffer the most because of the incredible shrinking religion! The whole scenario just makes me SO glad I got out years ago.
