I would describe the Witnesses as having a ‘plain clothes’ clergy.

what i would like to see and maybe will get there in about another ten years is being a jw is a rewarding thing that enriches your life.. just like other religions out there you may not know the entire truth and maybe not quite right many of the beliefs but to have to idea of a belief centres and stabilises you.. i would like jws to be able to celebrate birthdays and maybe even other holidays if they choose to and not be judged by those who choose not to.. i would like jws to be allowed to have different interpretations of scripture and everyone is happy to agree to disagree and be able to say to each other yes maybe that interpretation is nearer the truth.

we just don’t know.. i would like new members of the gb to issue an apology for previous members getting so many things wrong.. they need to come out and say they were wrong about 1914 this date has no scriptural significance and the same is true of 1919. jws were not chosen in 1919 as the one and only true religion.. we just don’t know about so many things and it takes humility to admit we were wrong.. i would like to see even more lightening up on stupid restrictions like young people being allowed to have a varied friends and activities that are not with jws only..

While I realize that some people on the forum are looking for an excuse to go back to the Witness religion, I am not one of them. I was raised Catholic and loved the Holidays.

While the JWs like to say Holidays are ‘pagan’, many things in the world are pagan: the calendar, days of the week, wedding bands. I believe the REAL reason the religion doesn’t want people celebrating holidays is because they want to separate people from their non-Witness family/friends! ..The religion is afraid if people spend time around family/friends who are not judging them and who love them - these JWs might not stay in the Witness religion! ..Good for anybody who figured this out and good riddance to the JW religion.

Of course the Norway court made the right decision.

The most important thing to me is that this publicity hopefully exposes the Jehovah’s Witnesses’ toxic culture to more people in the world!.. Far too many people have no idea of what goes on in the Witness religion. When I have described my experience in the religion and the shunning I got for working a full-time job, people can hardly believe it.. It’s just that abnormal.

The JW religion’s hypocrisy and deception is like nothing anybody has ever seen and the world deserves to know about it! .. You remember how they once said:”Advertise advertise advertise”? Well, that’s what needs to happen with regard to the toxic culture in the Witness religion! ..The world needs to know about this!

So, there you have it. Really.

The rules, regulations and practices in the Jehovah’s Witness religion are in the elders’ manual - along with the pencil scribbled notes.. This is the book that nobody is supposed to see but the elders. The rank & file don’t see it..so they can claim to somebody “that the religion never said that” or “that is not in writing”. The fact: it IS in writing. It is just that the writing is in a secret place.. Very easy to destroy if they are instructed to do so.

I am sure back in the day when I was soft-shunned and not invited (because I had a full-time job which I’m glad I kept) - that this ‘treatment’ or any other hate campaigns against certain individuals in the congregation ..were not written down in any literature seen by the public.. But, I have no doubt this was probably written and/or scribbled somewhere in some idiot elders’ manual.

At least the Churches of Christendom were in reality that people had to work long hours during the week! So, Sunday was their day to be free to attend for an hour or so.

As somebody who worked full time it was hard to make weeknight meetings when I was in the Witness religion. If the religion adopts one meeting during the week there will be those who work and either cannot make it or they will be late.

Not that it makes any difference to me since I am long Out of the Witnesses…but I think it would be a mistake on their part to abandon a Sunday meeting in favor of one during the week. Just my opinion.

i am non political and have never voted but nonetheless i have been keenly watching to see how the trump presidential race unfolds.

i believe that his involvement in propelling or influencing a leaning toward bible prophecy will unfold.

how, i can’t say but something tells me that this anomaly and outlier being trump is highly signifiant!

It seems every democrat I talk to either ignores this very important issue about the broken border and the country being invaded OR it’s no big deal to them. They voted on stupid issues, cheering like idiots and imagine this particular issue somehow will not affect them!

They aren’t even thinking about the inevitable big picture of sky high crime all over; everybody would eventually need bars on their windows like the south Bronx and other places!!.. Never mind the lower standard of living and other implications. It’s almost as though these deluded people are hypnotized to cut their own throats - and I believe they are.

No, it’s not you. The Witness religion has definitely lowered its standards.

This is caused by loss of many members due to death; the many who walked away because of faulty teachings and failed prophecy (me over the 1995 Generation teaching).. plus lawsuits and loss of funding in certain countries over human rights issues.

So, the religion felt compelled to do away with decades-old teachings that weren’t even biblical to start with. I’m sure this is a bitter pill for the judgmental older JWs there who followed all these old rules & regulations.

2024 year Highlights: JWs hit 9 million Publishers

watchtower put out some highlights for the 2024 service year:.

average publishers: 8,828,124. peak publishers: 9,043,460. a 43.2 percent increase in "those who returned to jehovah", meaning 65,816 were reinstated.

baptized: 296,267. memorial attendance: 21,119,442. missing stat: number of partakers .. womp womp.

I don’t believe for one minute that this figure of 9 million is true.

I didn’t even believe the JWs had 8 million but felt the number was half of that - especially in recent years.

I totally agree that she was a diversity hire. And it’s not that I believe a diversity hire can’t be capable.

If we in the States DIDN’T have four years of seeing all the woke-ism and cancel culture plus the high prices, open border, tent cities, migrants being bused all over and being housed in schools and hotels, plus unprosecuted crime, etc. maybe people might wonder if things would be better if the Democrats got in.

But, now that we have seen all this garbage and the dismal failure, let’s hope that nobody forgets because people can be stupid with selective memory loss. I am just hoping DT can reverse most of the bad and do some good and that any negative effects are few. 🙏🏻

Meeting attendance

for those still in the organization what is your meeting attendance like these days?.

when i left in 2017 there were around 80 publishers and the average meeting attendance was 70..

Yes, I agree and you are not the only one who thinks the Jehovah’s Witnesses are evolving into an online religion.

All the halls are being sold off and an assembly hall will be kept here and there for as you say quarterly assemblies, etc. Maybe some of the rank & file will like this. Who knows?

But I think the die-hards who thought of the JW religion as their ‘rock’ to depend on will be very let down by this!! This will be a bitter pill for them. (It also will be very hard to control or judge people if you are not physically around them - but it won’t matter at that point because the whole thing is on its way OUT and the religion will have people’s $ubscriptions.)

I wonder if those of the JWs who crave and need to meet in person will find ways to get together unofficially (?). Their precious religion will have become remote and they will be left high and dry. The JW religion will then be added to the list of USA religions on the way to being defunct.. Serves them right.
