And of course we can be in this computerprogram of this simple dude who got it from his mom for his birthday and now is getting bored with it and is about to turn his pc off.
Bye Bye everybody it's been nice knowing you all

what if "god" was really a humanoid being, and the universe was some kind of big research project.
if man can create man these days, who is to say later on he will not conquer all of life and the celestial bodies amongst us?
what if someday man were to create a universe within this universe?
And of course we can be in this computerprogram of this simple dude who got it from his mom for his birthday and now is getting bored with it and is about to turn his pc off.

i was raised around the "truth" all my life.
i'm not disfellowshipped nor have i dissassociated myself.
some of you have had some interesting experiences.
Welcome SwiftBreeze, I hope you will find some support here...and maybe later a little fun too. Welcome

i'd say a fest, but i've been wrong before.
fingers crossed.. englishman.
did I miss the party?
did any of you people notice the earthquake in indonesia two days ago?
well it didn't cause any tsunami but it was quite heavy (8.somthin).
anyway, i realized that this earthquake came the day after easter, like the tsunami came the day after xmas.
Now worldly, that's not very nice! but honestly, I don't see much diffrence in peoples behavior during the mooncylce. Maybe I'm not looking hard enough.
.
have you found some new band or artist that you would reccomend we listen to...for this to work we would need to know what style of music you normally listen to and then we can know if its what we would enjoy...eg.
i like pink floyd...genesis...yes...etc.....................and have just found mercury rev......brill
that's a whole lot of bands in this thread I never heard of. I was planning on buying the new Greenday album, and i might get this "Lamb" album at
the same time, but...Who is it by?
BTW I think the latest Coldplay CD is sweet!

well i don't believe in ufo's and abductions and that sort of thing but i do believe more that there must be extraterrestrial intelligence than i believe in the existance of a god.. i used to visit this site to read about the thoughts of serious scientists on the subject, it's the us-government sponsored project of seti:.
.
Here's some info on the TPF I was talking about earlier: (It's scheduled to be launched somewhere between 2012-2015, not 2007 like I said earlier)
Also you might want to check these pages on the NASA website:
http://planetquest.jpl.nasa.gov/TPF/tpf_index.html
This page is rather technical however and might be a little boring.

Worldly! LMFAO..
And no one wants to worship a god that can't kill as many folks as that phony Muslim god over there in them sand countries."
Thanks for the Article STEVE, it was a more "balanced" read than Worldly's (still laughing)

Hey Preston, thinking of what you said about traveling to other universes, you'd have to travel through time to do that.
Anyway, a couple of years ago I came across this hubble research; They had pointed the Hubble space telescope to a black part of the
sky and expected to find nothing. Then to their astonishment they found perfectly formed starsystems at a distance of 30 billion lightyears.
30 billion lightyears is older then the calculated age of the universe, so the scientists were puzzled, they thought they had calculated the
wrong age for the Univers. What I think now, is that they might have been peeking into a previous universe. (and this defies the common
consensus within the world of physics because the scientists agreed for a long time that there would be no way, ever that they could say
something about what was before the Big Bang)

Well New Worldly, then God may have made this Alien Universe for his amusement, who knows?
What I'd like to get my head around is what was there before the big bang?
I think it would be reasonable to assume there was a "big Crunch" of another Universe which collapsed under it's own weight/gravity.
The same fate might actually await our own Universe, the expansion of it is slowing as we speak.
BTW, for those who don't know: In the early 20th century, scientists found out that pretty much all stars are moving away from us.
The farther the star the faster they are moving away, you can see this because of Red-shift of those stars.
The Red-shift means that the light produced by the stars is of lower frequency then expected; it becomes red.
It's like the doppler effect: like when a ambulance passes you the frequency of their sirens becomes lower because the ambulance is
moving away from you. Anyway when they found out that the Stars are moving apart the astronomers started calculating and they found
that all stars must have been in the same spot about 20 billion years ago. That's when they figured that the universe is not that old and
that it came into existence with a big bang.
