Just my thoughts - "right" and "not wrong" are not linguistically equivalent. If you tell someone they are "not wrong" about a certain proposition, it leaves some uncertainty as to what actually is right. So you can weasel out of it later by saying you never made any claim.

NLP, Subliminal Messages and the WT Writing Department
by 00DAD ina few years ago i became interested in the subject of neuro-linguistic programming (nlp).
while the core concepts of nlp have been largely discredited as new-age pseudo-science, there is no doubt that there is at least some validity to the idea.
words and images remain the key way we communicate.

What exactly IS it to be a Jehovah's Witness anyway??
by Terry inmen talking utter rubbish and women nodding and going along.. .
pretending that all the things you don't do that makes life enjoyable for others makes you better than them.. .
explaining things you don't quite understand to others who don't much care and counting that as time well spent.. .

Being a JW has its redeeming features - those vivid fantasies of violent destruction that is soon going to befall anyone who disagrees with your preachments.

It is OFFICIAL they want MORE MONEY : NEW ANNOUNCEMENT!!!
by raymond frantz ini just came back from the meeting .although the local announcements have been abolished recently as an item for the second part , an elder came on the platform to announce that the society needs more money and there is a letter on the noticeboard for all the congragation to read to this effect.
although the announcement was read half heartedly (this elder's daughter is an apostate ,it looks like he knows what's going on) the implictions are dramatic .
the society in brief, requests any brother or sister with funds sitting on personal accounts to loan them to the society ,he didn't go into any specifics but i will take a picture of the letter next time and make it available here .. i'm not amazed that they're asking for money ,i thought it will happen sooner or later .what i'm amazed is that 99% of the congragation are oblivious to the financial crisis that the society finds itself these days and the reasons why .i can see the future now .the watchtower will be the fist part of the babylon the great to go down in a blaze of scandals and financial troubles !.

...they know the way to Jehovah...
Hi, a watcher,
In order to make this statement, you yourself also need to know the way to Jehovah. May I ask on what basis you make this claim to knowledge?

Why GB keep secrets DC theme?
by obarac inin the last few years gb keep secrets on dc theme.
so stupid.
before that we knew the theme long before from km..

Just a guess - the theme will be something to do with "Light". Again. They will bore everyone into submission by attempting to cram even more light-related metaphors into every sentence than ever before.

Can science allow one to extend life or live indefinitely now?
by EndofMysteries ini just had some weird thoughts.
right now we have the technology, artifical hearts, limbs, etc.
recent news articles i've read about how the technology now on reading thoughts, already people can think of turning on tv, electrical things and it happening with a chip implanted.

If they ever achieve this, it will only be made affordable to all the wrong people.

What is the actual PRODUCT being sold by Jehovah's Witnesses??
by Terry inmadison avenue became famous for selling the sizzle rather than the steak.. the point of advertising was to create an appetite for a product.. sometimes, in order to create desire for the product, advertising consisted of imposing an embedded fear that could only.
be resolved by purchasing the solution: the product.. .
four hundred and twelve billion dollars annually is spent on advertsing in the u.s. ($412 billion).

I'd say they're satisfying a desire that people have to feel superior. Even at the lowest rung in the JW social ladder, you can take comfort that you're a step above everyone else in the world.

This Guy is One of My Favorite Christians: John Shelby Spong

Rydor: Spong's view is that the Bible itself is not holy, but the underlying message and experience that its authors sought to convey is. He says that God is bigger than all of our belief systems and not limited by any of them. So even though he does not believe the Bible stories literally, he finds them to be a suitable framework for contemplating the divine.

I've heard stories about people taking long drives to witness in remote rural areas - but making sure to do one local return visit before and after, so all the travel time can be counted.
Edit - Never mind... just noticed Undercover beat me to it!
