My find at an Antique Shop
by orangefatcat inyesterday was a nice day so i took out my scooter and i went over to the library and also decided to go into the antique mall just across the road from us.
i love going to antique shops, so i was browsing at some old books and i seen this old purple paperback book and i picked it up and it was called ; the truth shall make you free, at first i thought this sounds like a jw book but why so old as a paperback .
upon opening it i was suprised that it was indeed a paperback book by jehovah's witnesses 1939 and it pretty good shape.

What the hell is wrong with people?

nos- lol I thought I was the only one that had this happen to them! I remember it seemed like everywhere I went people would find something to make a comment about. One time I was wearing a fake fur coat and this lady at Meijers told me that if she had that coat she would throw it down for her dogs to sleep on! People are crazy. If you have kids, it gets worse. Everyone will tell you what you are doing wrong with your child. Excuse me- but I am not going to hit a 2 year old because of a temper tantrum!! ...people...

Would you have quit the JW's for a Worldly Person you loved?
by JH inwhen you were a devout jw, and if you would have met a man/women that really pleased you, would you have quit the jw organization for that person, if he/she asked you to?

I did. We've been married for 10 years and he has been my only family for a number of years. I met him on the day that I decided I wouldn't go back to the hall anymore unless I really wanted to, and not out of guilt or pressure. He was painting in a art studio window at the mall. I felt at that moment like I've known him all of my life. I wish I could say that it was "happily ever after" from that day on, but the jw's will find a way to ruin any amount of pure happiness. if you don't have any official gatherings for ex-jw's then what have you and your ex-jw friends done for fun?

nina- oh I was so envious! I love the beach, so the thought of living on a island gives me goosebumps!
By the way... what about the Vegas one? I've been to Vegas before but I didn't think it was that fun. I was pregnant at the time and my only enjoyment was hitting all the buffet's. I'm sure next time I go I would have fun.

basically they involve a lot of people with died hair and weird peircings. There's usually a keg of beer, lots of good bands, and a wicked DJ upstairs for all the ladies. The party usually lasts from about 8 PM-6AM (or whenever the train starts running). If you want to smoke some grass bring your own. Nobody likes a mooch.
All of this I can handle... sounds like a fun time. The rest? well ? ... to each his own.
Or were you just joking? Ooops! hahaha

Thanks Nina- I think right now I'm just looking for a few good friends. I'm not the partying type either, but I do like to have fun and go to barbecues or the beach. I live in the Michigan, Ohio area so Dallas is a long ways away. I thought you lived in the V. Islands? Anyways, thanks for the invite.

by DocHayes ini'm working out at the ymca with my sister, and she spots an old dub friend of mine playing b'ball on the court.
i had become really close friends with him during my high school years (about seven years ago), and lost touch a couple of years ago.
anyway, he much like most other jw's in my life i never really had one last "huraaah" before i formally da'd myself in 2004, so chances are he never got the word.
