if you don't have any official gatherings for ex-jw's then what have you and your ex-jw friends done for fun?

Ive been having some wierd dreams lately
by tsunami_rid3r inone night, i dreamt i was a woman in a house somewhere in the tropics.
the house was overflooded with thigh high water and there were two men there.
one was unconsciouses and floating around, and he floated towards and electrical outlet and got electricuted and the other guy came over to pull him away.

I always used to have dreams where people were chasing me or trying to kill me. I don't have them anymore, but I think at the time it meant that I was trying to run from a frightening situation (jw's) in real life and that they were trying to kill my spirit (happiness/ true self).
I think dreams are a way that your subconscience is trying to tell you something that you may be avoiding or ignoring in real life. Love

by minimus insince the jw religion is sooooo restrictive, it is good to think about just how wacky this cult is.....for example, you can get counseled for buying a 2 door car as opposed to a "pioneer" car (4 door).

We had a 1950's style dress up dance party, but because we didn't get permission first, they called everyone into an elders meeting afterwards. Nothing at all happened at that party except little kids running around carrying balloons and old couples dancing. We did give all of the elders and their families invitations, but not one came, we all said at the party that it felt like a set up. The whole congregation showed up except the elders and familiy. Everyone was commenting on how weird that was. Ironically all of the people involved in getting the party set up, are now disfellowshipped. I guess great minds really do think alike!

What's the point of being a JW if you are not guaranteed of paradise anyway
by inquirer ini remember talks at the "kingdom ministry" meeting.
and at times, you'd hear talks (in a past tense) about why so and so didn't make it in paradise.
and they'd say dumb things like "oh, he pinoeered, he gave good talks, but he didn't make it because he was a drinker.

No wonder why I grew up with such a complex that no matter how hard I worked, it would never be good enough. All I can say is, be glad you're out of it. Hopefully, anyone reading this forum will get the hint about what this COMPANY is really about.

Wow! I wonder how many billions of dollars it takes to run just one of these facilities. Those buildings were as nice as any Microsoft headquarters or Coca Cola Corp,.
The catholics bring in the money too, but I always see them giving out by funding Catholic Homeless Shelters, Soup Kitchens, Catholic Hospitals, and sending food shipments to Ethiopia, etc,.
Where are the jw's stashing their money away? I know they're not helping people with it. What ever happened to "you will know them by their fruits"?

Hi there- It looks like we're in the same boat. It's been about 7 years since my mother last spoke to me. I have a daughter that's going to be 9 soon and a son that's 5. The last time she saw my daughter, she was 1 and1/2 and my son she has never met or even seen pictures of. It is really sad what this religion does to families. Hopefully, you will find strength in your new family and learn to move on as we all have had to. It's funny how the jw's think it's ok for them to shove their religion down our throats but you can't say anything to them about your beliefs. Hope things get better for you in that situation. Love

I don't know, but they must buy a stock of all of their supplies in the same color. It seems like everyone of these I've ever been to, has been burgundy, cream, and green. As an artist you know that those are warm colors that give you a feeling of warmth and the green makes you eat more, feel more prosperous, spend more money. All in all a sense of cozy elegance. Isn't that nice? I think we all should ponder on how thoughtful that was of them to make us feel at home. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
