sheesh! good thing we are over that now, hey?

i know many have quoted ridiculous statements from the assemblies etc., i just wonder what irked you most off of the platform in your own kh.. the one that sticks out in my mind was when we had a guest speaker on a sunday for the public talk.
i don't remember the theme but his main point was the starving people in africa did not need food.
he stated they needed spiritual food and would opt for that over a meal because they realize they could eat in the new order and there was no need to send any donations directly.
that homo sapiens are only about 6000 years old.

ok, maybe the word "saved" is inappropriate.... in my case, i would have to count three.
two of my best friends from when i was growing up who initially resisted my questions and apostate leanings but are now free of the borg and have confided it was our conversations that led to their de-programming.
and, my sister, through pretty much the same circumstances.
How many people have you SAVED from the JWs?
helped three out, plus maybe two more in the works. it's easy stuff man. didn't even have to try. just relay info to them, and let them watch you enjoying life.
hope all is well kid-A. :)

well for starters i do have a prescription for cannabis (insomnia / depression).... why would i want to take pharmacuticals for insomnia/depression?
i mean, what if i get prescribed/addicted to a pill, that one day i might not be able to afford?
(if you/i grow cannabis it's more/less free)... now the moral issue... who is more likely to beat the shit out of their kids?
"Why is pot against the law? It wouldn't be because anyone can grow it, and therefore you can't make a profit off it, would it?"
- "They lie about marijuana. Tell you pot-smoking makes you unmotivated. Lie! When you're high, you can do everything you normally do just as well ... you just realize that it's not worth the fucking effort. There is a difference."
- "Not all drugs are good. Some ... are great."
"I have never seen two people on pot get in a fight because it is fucking impossible. 'Hey, buddy!' 'Hey, what?' End of argument."
"How dare you have a wino tell me not to use drugs?" (On anti-drug television advertising)
"I believe that God left certain drugs growing naturally upon our planet to help speed up and facilitate our evolution. OK, not the most popular idea ever expressed. Either that or you're all real high and agreeing with me in the only way you can right now. [Starts blinking]"
- "The rock stars today who don't do drugs and who in fact speak out against drugs – 'We're rock against drugs!' ... Boy, they suck."
- "You see, I think drugs have done some good things for us. I really do. And if you don't believe drugs have done good things for us, do me a favour. Go home tonight. Take all your albums, all your tapes and all your CDs and burn them. 'Cause you know what, the musicians that made all that great music that's enhanced your lives throughout the years ... rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreal fucking high on drugs. The Beatles were so fucking high they let Ringo sing a few songs."
- "Actually, I'm against drugs being legalized, and this is why. Last weekend, my friend and I went into a farm, took some mushrooms, and we sat on a field. I looked up into the sky and saw God. He told me that there is nothing to fear, that he loves every single creature on this planet, and he showered gifts of forgiveness and love onto the Earth, and I realised that there was nothing to fear, and I loved everything ... Now, if that isn't a bad thing for this country, I don't know what is. How can we continue to make weapons if we love everything?"
- "No, I don't do drugs anymore, either. But I'll tell you something about drugs. I used to do drugs, but I'll tell you something honestly about drugs, honestly, and I know it's not a very popular idea, you don't hear it very often anymore, but it is the truth: I had a great time doing drugs. Sorry. Never murdered anyone, never robbed anyone, never raped anyone, never beat anyone, never lost a job, a car, a house, a wife or kids, laughed my ass off, and went about my day."
i fly the flag, give blood and vote at each and every election.
I fly the flag, give blood and vote at each and every election.
see, i don't think that is a true defilement, or apostatsy, to the WTS. i'm sure that *they* think that is a true defilement. but who cares what they think?
no offense intended, but you truly apostasize when you become as a god yourself. and gods don't need flags or governments.
cheers mate,

it seems that for jws, the demon thing is one of the few "eyewitness" confirmations of what the wts says.
there seems to be such an atmosphere of confirming testimonials that the jws relate back and forth to each other...but are they factual accounts or simply recycled "urban legends"?.
interestingly, the most dramatic demon stories are nearly always something that happened to someone else.. why is it that jws have seen more "demons" than anyone i've ever known in my life?
Post your JW demon stories
i've *heard* lots of things. but the following is the only demonic experience i have ever had:

not to long ago i talked to an elder and he was telling me how 4 people had partaken at the past memorial.

So all of you who were worrying about the Governing body die'ing off ,dont there is a new batch waiting to take their place.
of course. the WTS, as a meme, will continue to evolve as all other memes evolve. death will only come when it is out-competed in it's psuedo-spiritual niche.

in his book " the zen teachings of jesus",michael leong presents a very different way of understanding some of the things jesus taught--thru the eyes of eastern thought.. here's a couple of examples.
(he first explains that we should try to view jesus as a poet teaching us how to live beautifully.).
when jesus is questioned as to the greatest commandment and his reply "you must love god with your whole heart, mind and strength.
ya man, jesus was one of the great apostates of all time. cool read.
cheers bro,

how many of you ex-jw's salute the flag, sing the national anthem, and are ready to kill in a war for the usa?
i apostasized against countries and chunks of land owned by people with big guns a while back. so no, not patriotic at all. when people sing the national anthem, i stand
and watch them like i used to watch people singing at the kingdom hall back when i was still in, but mentally free.
anarchist. indefensible and unworkable for large groups of us apes. but anarchist anyways.

i wonder if the limey liberals are as hypocritical as our home=grown american ones?
these guys change positions more than the watchtower writing staff!
the hypocrisy of democrats .
uh, no rex. democrats are not liberals. democrats are conservatives that wear different patterned ties. that's why i think the new neil young album about impeaching the idiot prez is idiotic itself. didn't willie nelson school some flaming democratic late night talk show host recently about that? ya, what he said about remembering to breathe.
TS
since so many of you keep avoiding the primary issue in two other threads, chew on this one!
terry said this: .
>life is at the basis of reality for humans.
You now have a big reason to believe in God.
no actually, rex, i quite enjoy being amoral and godless. it's not for everyone, but i am liberated. you assume that i would want to have consistent, universal and "good" morals spelled out for me, and that i want to be a "good" person. but i don't.
