by Rethinking infirst time posting, long time lurking.. came upon this site on accident a few years ago and dismissed it as a site for disgruntled people; however, in the past months i actively searched for it as it stuck in my mind.
believe it or not, i practically read all of the topics.
i felt, wow, i wasn't alone in my thinking and feelings about some things.. it all started years ago in my last year in high school and then into college.

How is Paradise treating you nowadays?
by AK - Jeff ini just dawned on me that we must be in paradise now!
after all 1975 brought the end of the world, for which end we all sacrificed having children, careers, interesting work, hobbies and oral sex.
i missed some of those things [some more than others], but in the end it was good to set foot in that new earth, especially once we got the stench from the 6,000,000,000 dead behind us, and the shite off our 'newly inherited' luxury automobiles [those damndable carion birds].

my first pledge of allegiance

only small amounts of liquids, aerosols and gels are allowed in carry-on baggage.. see the transportation security administration (tsa) website for up-to-date information on items permitted and prohibited on airlines.. recommended activities all americans should continue to be vigilant, take notice of their surroundings, and report suspicious items or activities to local authorities immediately.everybody should establish an emergency preparedness kit as well as a communications plan for themselves and their family, and stay informed about what to do during an emergency situation

Lady In The Water
by gaiagirl ini just saw this wonderful film, directed by m.night shyamalan, who also directed "the sixth sense", "unbreakable", "signs", and "the village".
basically, the film illustrates some philosophical points by means of a fairy tale.
i don't think the storyline is meant to be taken as literally true, only the points which the story illustrates.

i really enjoyed this film as well. shyamalan really knows how to tell a story imo. unbreakable is my fave shyamalan.

Fear of the truth
by KW13 inwhen your a dub, the fear of the unknown (the real world) prevents you from taking a step from outside the organization, even for a second.. as an ex-dub, it seems crazy i ever was a dub or that i ever entertained their ideas for more than a moment.
the lengths the society go to hide things don't go beyond hiding it from those within the organization, this is obvious anyone on the outside can see clearly what it is.
the difficulty is proving things to the blind dubs.. saying this, why are so many jehovah's witnesses (who can normally be very nice) very arrogant when it comes to discussing their beliefs on other terms other than their own, if they aren't comfortable they resort to insults and rudeness, they find it ok to attack other peoples beliefs in literature, when they meet them but if anyone does the same to them they get hurt and run away immediately - specially if its an 'apostate'.. as much as i was once one of them, from the moment i left and apparently went off the narrow road i feel so much better about my life, other things in the world.

the thing is KW, is that anyone can be born with the brain-potential for a high IQ. what people are *never* born with is the ability to think critically. so, a witnoid can have a high IQ and still be totally out to lunch.
if they seem arrogant, then i would venture that it's because they have become masters of their own narrow little worldview. lol.

Jesus gave the Sign
by Doug Mason inwhen jesus answered his disciples question about the sign of the temples destruction, they coupled it with the end of the age (aeon) because the end of the temple would clearly indicate that the jewish age had come to its end.
likewise, the disciples believed that this momentous event the destruction of the temple would herald the appearance of messiah in power.
they did not recognize that, instead of coming as a mighty conquering warrior, the messiah had arrived as a babe.

But Jesus did give his Disciples the “sign” of the powerful coming they were expecting and hoping for: “The sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory. And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other”. (Matt 24:30, 31, NIV).
