a bizarre explosion at a church east of kansas city killed one man on saturday afternoon.
atf agents said the explosion at the jehovah's witness' kingdom hall on foggy bottom drive was intentionally set, and that the person who died appears to have committed suicide.
witnesses described large amounts of smoke pouring out of the building, which they said was just recently completed.
many a saturday afternoon have i spent considering doing similarly
in the 1970's i was a teenager.
i wasn't that big into disco- although i enjoyed kc and the sunshine band as well as earth, wind, and fire.

is loneliness.
the feeling of wanting to share with another and .
there is no one to share with?.
Lonely people do not make good friends because they are needy. They are look to other people for something that can only be found within themselves. They take rather than give.
Once we can feel comfortable with our own company we have something to give to others and become better company. It is the difference between wanting a drink and needing one.
i am not needy in company. i would rather give than take. i am only melancholy when i am on my own. in company i am funny interesting and informative. i go to movies gigs sports on my own.
i am now not only comfortable with my own company i actually prefer it...
...and i have never been so lonely in all my life

i almost died reading this list from the private jw group on facebook.
usually the posts there are quite nauseating, but this topic was priceless.

in art, there can be no wrong opinions, we like what we like and have to offer no explanation for what we like and/or do not like.
that said... my take on last night's rem concert at lakewood amphitheater.
ok, so i'm an athenian, that means i'm supposed to love all things athens, georgia is about; but i've never been a big rem fan... in fact, when i was offered front row tickets given by the band themselves, i really didn't want to go.
Basically, the show was 2.5 hours of Micheal Stipe's wining voice singing songs I've never heard, with a few songs like "Losing my Religion" tossed in here and there that kept me from just wanting to leave.
saw them last weekend at t in the park and......
couldnt agree more.
love rem (since the one i love) but hadnt listened to new album. listened to it now and like it but the show was disappointing. to be fair it was the last act of a 3 day fest so it had its limitations and i had been on my feet for almost 50 hours solid and i dont really care about individual performances so long as the whole thing is good .
thankfully being a fest they only played 90 mins.
been a bigger counting crows fan since 'round here' on letterman..and they were awful...virtually every song was reworked to a state of unrecognizability. adam is a bit twisted that way...i wouldnt mind one or two variations but every song...at a fest...where most folk only know your hits...and u aren't the headline..........way to go - not.
so our po gets up there tonight to give a local needs part.
he goes on and on about how we should not gossip if we think that someone is acting wrong in the cong.
then he goes on to say that if we know of anything we must go to the elders.. well, i know of someone who wrote a letter to the boe about a brother that was fired for sexual harrassment at his job and then just quit his current job because he was "accused" again of sexual harrassment.
anonymous letters are cowardly.
of course they cant be acted on..
salamanders whose eyes are not fully functioning use less food than those with fully functioning eyes, which burn more energy to produce retinal chemicals and electrical discharges.. it only makes sense then, that over the few thousand years since the noachian flood, that the salamanders stranded who inherited defective eyes (ie -that burned less food) would survive longer than those with good eyes that used energy anyway.. the non working eyes are an excellent example of the "vestigial organs" which the witchtower claims do not exist.. hb.

someone should think about this as a solution to africa's famine problems
