  do the gb go door to door...i was just wondering with all their bethel work and convention running and globe trotting whether anyone has 'witnessed' (sic) them actually going from door to door..(studies dont count)

  Assemblies suck

  didn't it drive you up the wall how, after a long week of working or going to school, you had to spend your entire weekend at an assembly?

  the saturday and sunday that you could've spent catching up on some yard work, or even relaxing was wasted away by sitting in a bunch of chairs, listening to stuff you've heard many times before.. i know this used to drive me up the wall.

  it felt like i had absolutely no time to myself during these weekends.

  we went to the furthest north convention still held outside...it was funny knowing that everyone was wearing new dresses skirts blouses suits UNDER their old coats and blankets....crumpets obviously not been for a while- getting rid of food was a big mistake-simplification for the bosses maybe but more difficult for everyone else....and did anyone actually talk to anyone new

  Prayers at mealtime!!?

  who still find it strange years on to dive straight into your mail meal without 'giving thanks'?

  i say main meal, because dad's prayers were always considerably lengthy before a main meal, and are an institution in every jw household.

  even now after a few years i'm just about ready to tuck in when i find myself saying a simple thanks under my breath.

  i didnt know it was 12/13 year old and have only recently come across it as i have with guns n rose...i didnt think i would like them but that was based on being told they were debased by wts..but i find i do like their stuff...and a good deal of zeppelin too

  prayers at bethel have nothing to do with thanx or appreciation...they only have to do with time keeping and general order...nobody listens to them..and most continue eating after the 2nd prayer...it more than any prayer at home by family or alone is the epitome of a meaningless ritual...in fact the more i think about it the more pharisaical it appears

  i was in best buy yesterday and i saw a display with a photograph of a new phone that plays mp3s.

  on the phone's screen was "j dub".

  at first i didn't know what to think... could there be a jw programmer out there with a since of humor?

  Suicide among Jehovah's Witnesses

  this topic has been covered many times, in many different ways, but let's open this for discussion: if the witnesses allowed an elder per congregation to be trained as a "pastoral counselor" as other religions do, would that make it more bearable to be a witness and play by their rules?

  would it lessen the number of depressed, suicidal people who feel they have no reason to live?.

  yes i think it would but i dont think it will nappen cos there would have to be some kinda 'worldly' training and the solutions offered would then be different to pray more, do more fs, study more

  for an oldie i'd pick audrey hepburn singing moon river ... mmnnnn, i never get tired of that.. currently i'm listening to norah jones an aweful lot.

  she is very easy on the ears and is my "audible-heaven" right now.. so who's voice makes you 'melt' ?
