  Letter Writing Campaign. . .who's in?!?

  jimwood and someone else suggested a letter writing campaign, bombarding the wts with letters old and new on any topic, complaint, issue and problem.

  I really think that faking addresses is a bad way to go. The problems/issues we all have with the Borg are legitimate. I think that making up fake names and addresses makes it all look like a prank. Playing pranks just means they will have more reasons to ratchet up the hate against people that leave.

  Use a PO box as an address or something if you don't want to use your own, but don't belittle the real issues we all have by resorting to child like pranks and siccing elders on innocent people. That won't get anyone to take what you have to say seriously.

  sure we got to know a lot of people, we knew a lot more people then the average person, but how many real friends did we ever have?

  a friend that we could trust, that we could confine in.

  i can say i had just one, bro x and even then i still had to be careful, bro x is an elder now and he tells me that im the only real friend hes ever had, he cant freely talk to anyone.

  From what I understand, there seem to be some problems with his story in that it does not correspond to the evidence. Of course what is out there right now is just the rumor mill, but I'm not holding my breath that he is really the one that did it. He seems a bit loopy to me. I guess we will have to wait and see what the evidence is.

  i haven't flown anywhere in quite some time.

  my family and i are going to a wedding on the opposite side of the country.

  would love to call it a vacation, but "in-laws" are involved, so..... you know how that can go sometimes!.

  We flew on Saturday and will again this weekend. You are fine taking a carry on as long as it has no liquid, gels- even lip gloss, hair spray, shampoos or anything else. You can take your medications, books anything else you want. We did check our luggage instead of carrying it just so it speeds up the line.

  Sleep

  i once attended a seminar on sleep that was focused on the effects of shift work and how the constantly changing wake/sleep cycles can affect health and well being.

  i forget the name of this particular sleep researcher as it was a few years ago and i attend many seminars as a av technician.

  but what i learned was very informative and i'll take the opp to share what i remember.

  To echo Dansk (although not 30 years yet! I hope it clears up before that) I have not slept well for years.

  Thos suggestions may work fine for people with occasional insomnia, but they don't do a darn thing (unfortunately) for those of us with CHRONIC insomnia ( I am posting this at 1:AM and am wide awake). I can turn off the lights and lay in bed all night and still not sleep a wink. I can walk miles on my treadmill and nada in the sleep department, I don't eat right before bed and with a 3 and 10 year old, a day time snooze is out of the question. My current sleep wake cycle is 3-10am, which will be out the window next week when my son goes back to school. THen it will become 7am for the wake up.

  I'm headed for doctor's help in the inducing sleep area very soon because I am so beyond exhausted (physically anyways) it's not even funny.

  Has anybody successfully quit using caffeine altogether?

  my anxiety and stress levels are really bad lately.

  i think i'd be doing myself a favor to quit caffeine, as it has become a real catch-22 for me, where i need it to stay awake, but it causes me to lose sleep, so i need more of it to stay awake, etc.. i've learned through experience that i'm very sensitive to any sort of chemical substance that affects neurotransmitter flow, and, given my general propensity towards depression/anxiety/paranoia/add, i think that at least one thing i could do to give me a calmer, more stable neurotransmitter mix would be to eliminate caffeine.

  i've tried to reduce before, and i've found that i just start making excuses to have a little more, a little more, until i'm right back where i started.. so, i'm just wondering if anybody else has had a similar experience where they felt the need to not just reduce but eliminate caffeine altogether, and if so, how did it go, did it help, how long has it been, etc.

  Yes... It was a wreck on my anxiety levels, and it started to give me heart palpitations to boot about 10 years ago, so I avoid it completely. I find now that the ritual of drinking coffee, even if it is decaf, helps me wake up just fine. Once you ween yourself off the caffeine addiction, you'll be just fine.

  A good way to get off of the caffeine without suffering is to ween yourself off of it slowly.
  For one week, replace 1/4 of your regular coffee with Decaf, the next week, replace 1/2, the next week 3/4 and then by the 4th week, you should be able to replace it completely with decaf without suffering.

  I love a good starbucks as much as the next person, but they make decaf too! . Thankfully, we are past the days of needing to drink the dehydrated crappy Sanka if we want decaf!

  Would You Stop Going To Mel Gibson Movies???

  i don't care too much for spike lee but i like some of his movies.....i just think mel needs some help.

  Not at all. I like him and his movies. Isn't he entitled to make mistakes like the rest of us? If we knew how many people we have contact with every day in public that have a DUI on their record, I think we would be astonished. We never would have heard about Joe Average being an idiot and getting arrested for DUI. He is just unfortunate enough to have done something really stupid and be famous.

  As for his comments, which I have yet to see a transcript for so don't really KNOW exactly what was said, haven't we all been mad at someone or a situation and said something that can be taken the wrong way in the heat of the moment? Maybe we say something that when the moment is over, we sincerely regret what was said? I know that I have done that many times, and if I have a glass of wine in me, it's even worse if I am upset at someone or something. The heat of emotion can cause that, and add some alchohol that intensifies the emotions you are feeling and you have a recipe for disaster. People who are drunk say a lot of things.
