Ours was up by noon on Thanksgiving and I am still decorating it. Much to my husband's chagrin, I also put the wreaths out on the front of the house Thursday morning as well. But I love all the decorations so much that I want them up as long as possible.

So when do you put up your tree?
by restrangled ini hope you all had a great thanksgiving..... my husband was so inspired he went up to the attic and dragged down our tree the same day (the 23)... i have been decorating for 2 days serenaded by vince geraldi's charlie brown christmas music.
for some reason it feels extra special this year.
perhaps because after waffling for years with the witnesses i was finally able to let go this summer after finding this site.. so when are you putting up your christmas tree?.

My first thought was that these parents were probably not told about his history. Maybe this will open the families eyes when they find out that the elders were aware of it and chose not to tell them. On the other hand, if they knew, then they are horrible parents.Chemical castration reduces the sex drive - it doesn't take it away and obviously the monitoring company isn't really doing their job either.

Any help with 8 year old still in?
by megsmomma ini am very sad that i am in this situation.
it is pretty much my own fault that i have this situation...but i didn't know at the time what all the consequenses would entail.
(i got real ddepressed and left my jw husband and da'd myself after i had a baby with him) my daughter is a happy well adjusted kid with a new jw mom and an elder dad.

I'm with you on the normal life thing, but she still has a chance - maybe not for the child hood, but having you in her life will certainly give her a perspective on non-witnesses that most kids do not have to counteract what they are taught.

Yikes.. that is a tough one. I don't have any eperience with that kind of thing, but it sounds like you are already making all the adjustments that are within your power to do. I don't see that there is much that you can do besides show her that you love her and make sure that her time with you and your family is fun and doesn't put any pressure on her about the whole witness thing so that her experience counteracts anything that she may be told about non-witnesses now and in the future. That way if she is being told that everyone (you and your family) will be doing their best to get her to leave "Jehovah" and none of you even mention it, then that gives her a basis to question what she is being told as she gets older.)
How often do you get to see her?

by kerj2leev inafter 13years of marriage, today it finally came to an end!.
it felt very strange as i entered into the court room, my attorney on the right and hers on the left.
we were the first group of 15 or 16 case to be heard today.

I'm so sorry... to echo what has already been said, it does get easier, but there is something particularly sad about the day that it becomes final. Thoughts are with you from all of us who have been where you are.. It is a good thing, and a good sign, that you could walk out of that court room remembering the good times. Life does get good again.

Gag ...
My mother has one of those not so clever poems on her bathroom wall.....come to think of it, that is probably a fitting place for it!
I'll have to take a pic and post it when I am out there next month. Should be a fun visit. My 3 year old is already talking about Christmas (he's figured out the present thing) and he should be nice and vocal... I think I need to teach him a few Christmas carols!!
