  Yea, when i was 17. For bad associations, smoking and misc other bs reasons. I look back and laugh. Big fish in a little pond.

  What have you "fixed" recently?

  i think i fixed my computer..... it was always turning off for no reason.

  i opened it up and cleaned the fan, and the computer goes well now....lets hope it will last.. other than that, i don't fix many things.. .

  Sheep vs. Goats

  anyone else while being a jw find it awful to be referred to as "sheep"?

  i've always thought being called sheep was negative, as in - they are all a bunch of sheep!

  i guess i was born stubborn goat, thank the gods!.

  i was at bethel not long ago.

  and other then the hypocrisy i saw the most beautifull women in the world all in one place.

  bethel makes the miss universe pagent look silly.did i mention these women are from all over the world, bethelites can stay in other countries for cheap because they can stay in assembly halls.

  Photo slides to digital -- how do we do it?

  i have thousands of slides from my life, courtesy of dad (who was a camera junkie like me).

  i'd like to convert them to digital format because some of them -- since i'm so old -- are degenerating (kind of like me).. do any of you smart techie-type people know how to do that?

  i don't have the money to spend to take them to my nearest camera shop, and i'd like to find out what the process is so i can do it myself (or big tex can.

  I have an Epson Perfection 1260 scanner that has a "adapter" for scanning 35mm slides. It's essentially just a bracket that sits on the scanner bed and has a built in light to backlight the slides. Works ok but the resolution of the scanner is key considering the small area that is to be scanned.

  whoever can answer a few qs for me i would be grateful!.

  i would really like to know why wittnesses shun people at meetings or weddings or social gatherings.

  i understand the need and desire for members of the church to help other wittnesses back into the fold after they have committed a serious sin!

  hi every one i am not sure if i am posting in the right place or not but just wanted to say a quick hello.

  i am a disfellowshiped (ex brother of 27 years), they did this to me nearly eight years ago after forming a commitee with two lying elders (one decent) who didn'nt like my father who was the presiding overseer at the time and stand in circut overseer.

  i was married for six years at the age of 19 and when i decided to have a break from her it all hit the fan and the lies started about me.

  Sharpening our skills to deal with superiors

  this past week i came back to work after being gone a week for my brothers funeral.. my human resource person comes drooping in where i am sorting though stuff to deliver for the day and says she needs to talk to me......i said ok.......how about now?.

  i go in her office and she sits and i sit......she says ......your job is going to change......and tells me the two things that are going to change.. she says nothing like good morning ......how are you today......glad you are back blah blah blah!

  she is the first person i see and speak with after being out a week for a funeral.. besides all that .....what was changing was based on misinformation from the person that does my job while i was gone.......who was fired yesterday btw......but that is another story.. i was talking to another person about how this all went down and i said ......we have to always sharpen our skills to deal with the inadequite way our superiors handle things.

  We truely had to sharpen our skills to deal with what was dished out to us.

  Much respect for dealing with this bs straight up and with tact after what you've had to deal with recently.

  The workplace enviroment is a cakewalk in comparison to dealing with the mindf*** that the elders and the org have dealt out.

  A matter of degree 'course but it shows a strength.

  I always led a double life. The way I was raised has affected me so much in my adult life. The funny thing is, I am just starting to realize it now. Maybe I have blocked it out all this time.
