Y'all are kinda funny looking to me,.....
;-)
here is an interesting link http://www.tjdefendidos.org/ and here is an english translation of the article on that site about apostates testimony.
is the testimony of apostates reliable?
sometimes, the mass media offer testimonies of people who used to be jehovah's witnesses as a means of finding out more about our religion.

BTW the new BSG series is awesome if you like sci-fi. This time it's real,....

re Battlestar Galactica
There was a revival of the series in the early 80s where they actually made it to Earth and were "undercover" and had motorcycles that could fly. Didn't have any of the original characters and didn't last. Too bad though, I though Sheba was hot,....;-)

Yea, I remember all that. Had models of the fighters and everything. Cheese factor was high but it was awesome at the time. Space 1999 was more dramatic though as I recall.
People prefer deification as it gives consolation and confirmation.
Yea, it's pretty cold out there and there are wolves.
Prayer belongs to the mass and meditation to the individual.
You mean ponder my own existence and that of which I'm a part of?
Prayer denotes duality and meditation means merger, coalescence, dissolving and disappearing.
The whole father/son thing was comforting and was something solid I could identify with too.
God is more of a feeling and less of a concept.
Somebody said God is Love, which I think is true.
God is our attempt to give finite configuration to the infinite formlessness.
Could a fly connect to the internet? ;-)
A man of meditation sees his own reflection on everything around him.
Are we not all the same and on this boat together?
God is nameless, formless and even Godless.
The further you look, the further things are,....
Thanks for the thoughts
My experience has been similar and it's funny how alcohol as a depressant seems to alleviate the symptoms of depression or other underlying causes. Plus I shoot a better game of pool after a couple,....;-)
Seriously though, you may need to ask yourself a couple questions. Such as why do I choose to have this drink? Is it causing problems in other areas of my life? Do I exercise control over it? Can I stop?
The good thing is the fact you've already identified a problem and possible underlying causes. So change it up and see what happens. Talking to a psychologist really helped me with the down times especially after leaving. The roots can go pretty deep. And not to be shallow but do things you enjoy, eat healthy and get out and about. The little things u know,...
Bottom line is that if drinking is something that you can't control, seek help whether it's a behavioural therapist, AA or a discussion board. Venting goes a long way,....

does anyone know the current thought on what happened before the flood?
i remember being taught that it never rained before the flood but now they are telling me that was never taught.
i thought i remembered a quote somewhere saying something to the effect of "can you imagine how the outsiders must have felt feeling those first drops of rain?
Good point on the rain.
That was one of my logical arguments against the teaching when I was doubtful before leaving. How did all everything get water without rain? And now the doublespeak. Too much bs IMO.
we posted on earlier threads the letter we sent to the judicial committee as well as letters we sent to our jw friends.
we sent those letters to 43 folks/couples on monday.
we have begun receiving replies.
Hey Lenny,
Nice letter, very well worded. I admire the guts you have in doing this.
