Well, if the word "chist" means "anointed one", it stands to reason "christian" means the same thing. Now was Jesus a christian, NO, acording to acts he was of the "Sect of the Nazarene's" which were just, one of many groups of Essene's Many profess to believe in Jesus, but doesn't scripture say that the demons believe and yet shudder? Jesus said be my follower. that denotes "ACTION" an external element (the way you LIVE your life, not just the way you think), where belief is internal, so if you talk the talk you need to walk the walk, literially. If scripture says Jesus was a "Nazarene", wouldn't his follower's be "Nazarene's" also, not "Christian" which is a name given by outsiders? Acadian ~~~ of the simple minded class ~~~

Let cut JWs some slack on Christ's status. They might be right.
by Spectrum inthe alternative light i have received regarding early christianity has made me wonder whether jws have unwittingly got it right regarding the status of jesus.
a lot of strong criticism is made on this forum about jws sidelining of jesus in preference for jehovah the jewish god.
they have been equated with judaism because of their lack of inclusion of christ in their worship as well as their draconian code of expected conduct.

Good morning! In the cong. I went to there were 3 families all inter-related that had, if I remember right, we had 5 so called anointed one's, and I studied with one of them when I first became a JW (not one now) and I'll tell you they were some of the most un-christian out of any at the hall. Using phrases such as "scumbags" and others, to describe people in the world, (can't imagine Jesus doing that to describe the common people) that disturbed me, but what did I know at the time, I thought they had the truth. (or at least I hoped they did) Acadian

Hi all, I have a question. If Jesus was a ransom for mankind or those who believe in him, then wouldn't he have to be equal to Adam as far as being a man/human? Otherwise he would be paying that ransom with something of greater value, than what Adam lost? What kind of test would it be if Jesus was a Godman/divine, he could overcome any test easily, but were he a mere man, that test would be equal to Adam's test of not disobeying God. Any thought's? Maybe some one can confirm this, but I believe I read some where that John baptised Jesus at the same place Elijah was taken up in a chariot? And as far as reincarnation, I can't prove it one way or another, so I don't discount it. and if it were true I see it being possible to work right along side the ressurection teaching. Acadian

It doesn't make sense?
by acadian init doesn't make sense?
in july 2005 my daughter gave birth to twin girls, and to make a long story short, the father, her husband walked out and abandon them about two weeks ago, ( playing video games, were more important to him, than caring for his babies ) they were living in my home paying no rent so they could save enough to get their own place.. my daughter and grand kids are still living with us, and i love it!.
that's the basic background.. .

Juni you didn't rain on my parade I appreciate your comment very much Juni ! One thing I didn't mention when I was ranting earlier is the fact that the father returned from Iraq a few months ago. So i'm trying to give him the benifit of doubt, because of his mental condition, which he's exspressed, but hasn't shought help for. Post trumatic stress might be one of the problems. ( uncontrolled anger, which is not good for the babies) But it's hard giving him the benifit of doubt, when all he talks about is divorce. One good thing is his family is on my daughter's defence and in full support of her both emotionally and what they can provide for the girls, clothes and odds & ends, there pretty great! Acadian

Your eating habits
by greendawn intell us about your eating habits, are you health conscious do you avoid synthetic additives in food such as artificial flavours and preservatives and generally all processed food, are you vegetarian, vegan, do you buy organic food out of fear of pesticides, do you eat too much, do you go on diets often etc .
i was shocked to read somewhere that 90% of the food americans eat is processed.
it saves time using such food but....

Hi unique1, She looked into the wic program and for herself it would be ok, but the food items aren't geared for infants, you can get blocks of cheese, butter, and some other food stuffs. I didn't see any vouchers for freah produce, so your very limited as to what you get, where food stamps you can choose any food items you want, like freah whole foods not junk from a box. From what I understand now, the father is going to be presented with child support. My feelings are that we as a family would take care of each other, when the need be, but when he walked out that put a burden on my daughter, not mention the mental anguish from losing the man she thought loved her. I know it'll all work out in the end, oh, did I mention the timing belt on her car went out...lol... Just a side note: Her getting assistance is her idea, my wife and I feel differantly, were very self sufficient, but we live on a limited income. So when things pop up like the timing belt it presents challenges, but we make it work one way or another. Anyway the point that didn't make sense to me was she was told she needed to be working at least 32 hrs per wk. She works 20-30 hrs per wk right now, so she was told by the social worker she needed a secoud job or more hrs at the one she has now before she qualified for food stamps. But, they would pay for child care! Now to me it doesn't make any sense to require mother's to work and get free child care. If the "State" wants to pay somebody why not pay the mothers, and let them be just that, mothers, whose babies need them. It could just be me, but it seems the system is screwed up.
