The Gentiles Times Reconsidered--Again but this Time By Using the Bible
by thirdwitness inthink about this: if seven times mean only 7 years then daniel could have simply said 7 years.
why does daniel specifically use the word 'times' rather than years?
as we have already shown daniel used the word for 7 times instead of 7 years.

Thirdwitness, are you talking about when Jesus establishes the kingdom of God?
If that's what you are trying to establish, Jesus' words might help... if not please disregard this post.
At Luke Chapter 22, verse 14, Jesus is sitting down at the Last Supper with the twelve apostles and He is saying unto them, "With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer. For I say unto you, I will not anymore eat thereof, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God. And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, Take this, and divide it among yourselves: For I say unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come" (verses 14-18).
Here Jesus states that the Kingdom is coming and that certain events will take place when the Kingdom has arrived. Jesus says he will not eat or drink anymore until the Kingdom comes. Now let's search the scriptures to see if Jesus ever does eat or drink again with the apostles
Go to Acts, Chapter 10, verses 39-41. We are going to be looking at a "flashback." In these verses the apostles are talking about an earlier event, after Jesus rose from the dead, but before He ascended into the clouds. Peter says:
And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a tree: Him God raised up the third day, and shewed him openly; Not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen before of God, even to us, who did eat and drink with him after he rose from the dead. Here we see Jesus' prediction at the Last Supper being fulfilled. Jesus said that the kingdom will come when He eats and drinks again with His apostles (Luke 22:16,18). Now at Acts Chapter 10, the apostles are bearing witness that they did eat and drink with Jesus.
From these events, it is clear that Jesus conferred the Kingdom upon the apostles and that they bore witness that the Kingdom truly arrived.
Let's look again at what Jesus was actually doing. The first event is Jesus telling the apostles at the Last Supper, "The Kingdom is right around the corner. I'm going to go die, and after I am raised up, the Kingdom will be fulfilled. Today I'm eating this Last Supper with you. When I eat and drink with you again, the Kingdom will be fulfilled" (Luke 22:16,18).
Then Christ explains the character of His government and bestows His Father's Kingdom upon them (Luke 22:29). Finally, the apostles testify that they did indeed eat and drink with Jesus after He rose from the dead. This event fulfills Christ's prediction that when He eats and drinks again it will be when the kingdom of God is fulfilled (Acts 10:39-41).
This is the Good News. The evidence is in. These are not parables. This is clear speech. The Kingdom is here. We have that same Kingdom and it is everlasting. If it happened 2,000 years ago, it has to be here now, too. It has never vanished.

Hello Thirdwitness, Even if all were true about what you wrote (WTS), there is still one problem... the Watchtower is a corporation, corporations get their authority from the State, not God. As a corporation they recieve benifits/priveleges/protection from the State/beast, thus showing a severe lack of faith in their God Jehovah in being able to take care of their worldly affairs. You can't serve two master's, be unevenly yoked with unbeliever' (the State),.and be no part of the world. How can you be incorporated in the State and the body of christ at the same time? not possible! Except for hypocrits and liars. You want to know if a religion has God's approval, ask yourself, is it incorporated in the Christ or the State, and then you'll have your answer. Peace Acadian.

Welcome to the board Agape!
there are some bright minds on this board
And not so bright. But, if you hang out for a while you'll see the majority here are good hearted and only want to be your friends. Dogma doesn't go over well here, as can be expected since many here came from a dogmatic religion. So if you are dogmatic in your posts expect a little flack. And remember this, if we didn't care about you, we wouldn't be commenting to this post. Please stay and get to know us! Kind Regards Acadian

Have you made what you consider to be life-long friends here?
by Crumpet in.
now that you have attended apostafests and gotten to know people over the phone or by email here at jwd do you feel you have made life long friends;you know the kind you'd expect to come to your wedding or to be there at your funeral - would drop in on for coffee if you ever happened to be in their part of the world?.
or is it primarily just a forum of faceless entities who you appreciate the comments and support of online but don't necessarily feel an affection for or an urge to meet or further cement that friendship?

Good morning Crumpet, I've made at least one lifelong friend/brother. Openfireglass (OFG) invited me and my wife to go to "Reggae on the River" here in No. Calif. last Aug. 4-6. Spend a week with OFG and his family and friends at raggae, Great people! OFG never even met my wife and me, yet made it possible for us to attend the festival at no cost. OFG is as REAL as they come, he would give the shirt off his back to you. OFG truly has a heart of GOLD! Thanks Bro !!! Acadian

Welcome to the board Hambeak! One purpose for this board is for one's such as yourself to be able to discuss issues/beliefs without being considered an apostate. And come to honest conclusion/interpetations. (whatever?) Here's an example: if you were to ask a witless oops, I mean witness who controls the Watchtower corporation they would say Jehovah. But that's not true. All corporations are controlled by the State Attorny General of each state. The watchtower corp. is a 501-3(c) corporation which means non-profit. So in truth it's not Jehovah who controls The WTS it's the State's Attorny Generals. So the question is... Why is the WTS accepting priveleges from the BEAST/STATE? Because they truly have no REAL faith in God. to provide for and protect them, so they've asked the State for protection rather than trusting in Jehovah. And that goes for all churches. where do they get their Authority.. God... or the State through incorporation? It dosen't matter what they teach, what matters is, are they incorporated with the State? Whose Authority are they under? God's or the State's This board is for the openning of eyes, to the deceptions of the WTS Acadian
