Cannabis vs Alchohol and Other Man Made Pharmacuticals
by OpenFireGlass inwell for starters i do have a prescription for cannabis (insomnia / depression).... why would i want to take pharmacuticals for insomnia/depression?
i mean, what if i get prescribed/addicted to a pill, that one day i might not be able to afford?
(if you/i grow cannabis it's more/less free)... now the moral issue... who is more likely to beat the shit out of their kids?

How do you deal with death now
by unique1 ini must say, it was easier being a jw, believing that i would in fact be resurrected to a paradise earth and having the faith that would definitely happen.
i still believe in the bible to the extent that i believe jesus led a good life and if we follow his example we will lead one to.
however, the bible was written by men, who are imperfect and therefore i don't feel we can take the entire book at face value as truth.

We came to an agreement,I don't tell him how to live, and he don't tell me how to die. Actually when you get to know him he's a pretty nice guy, a bit mis-understood though. Acadian

Post your JW demon stories
by M.J. init seems that for jws, the demon thing is one of the few "eyewitness" confirmations of what the wts says.
there seems to be such an atmosphere of confirming testimonials that the jws relate back and forth to each other...but are they factual accounts or simply recycled "urban legends"?.
interestingly, the most dramatic demon stories are nearly always something that happened to someone else.. why is it that jws have seen more "demons" than anyone i've ever known in my life?

This whole issue is so stupid! I have plants in my yard (not pot, just weeds) that are more dangerous than any cannabis. One plant that grows naturally in my yard is called "Poke root" it's a narcotic, and it will kill you if mis-used, but if used properly it has many benifits, that's just one plant I have many other's that grow naturally and if mis-used will kill you too. So am I a bad person because these plants grow naturally on my property. and I do make use of them. All plants have a purpose, just because some don't know what they are, is no reason to denign their use to those who do. What ever happened to education? Give people knowlege not propaganda! As far as any substance, no matter what it is, can either be good for you or not. And that includes all pharmacuticals also. One person may benifit, where the other may have a bad reaction to the same drug/substance What it boils down to, is pure greed. Because if the govenment was really concerned with public safety they wouldn't allow many of the things sold in stores to be sold.
Excerpt from U.S. Federal Court Decision in the Case of
Alliance for Cannabis Therapeutics, et al., vs. US Drug Enforcement Administration (IRS):
In the Matter ofMARIJUANA MEDICAL RESCHEDULING PETITION
September 6, 1988.
Docket No. 86-22.
Francis L. Young, DEA Administrative Law JudgeHighlights of the Judge's decision:
VIII: Cannabis/Marijuana's Accepted Safety for Use Under Medical Supervision
3. The most obvious concern when dealing with drug safety is the possibility of lethal effects. Can the drug cause death?
4. Nearly all medicines have toxic, potentially lethal effects. But marijuana (cannabis) is not such a sub-stance. There is no record in the extensive medical lit-erature describing a proven, documented cannabis-in-duced fatality.
5. This is a remarkable statement. First, the record on cannabis encompasses 5,000 years of human experi-ence. Second, cannabis is now used daily by enormous numbers of people throughout the world. Estimates suggest that 20-million to 50-million Americans rou-tinely, albeit illegally, smoke marijuana without the benefit of direct medical supervision. Yet, despite this long history of use and the extraordinarily high num-bers of social smokers, there are simply no credible medical reports to suggest that consuming cannabis has caused a single death.
6. By contrast aspirin, a commonly used, over-the-counter medicine, causes hundreds of deaths each year.
7. Drugs in medicine are routinely given what is called an LD-50. The LD-50 rating indicates at what dosage fifty percent of test animals receiving a drug will die as a result of drug induced toxicity. A number of re-searchers have attempted to determine cannabis's LD-50 rating in test animal, without success. Simply stated, researchers have been unable to give animals enough cannabis to induce death.
8. At present it is estimated that cannabis's LD-50 is around 1:20,000 or 1:40,000. In layman terms this means that in order to induce death a marijuana smoker would have to consume 20,000 to 40,000 time as much cannabis as is contained in one marijuana cigarette. NIDA-supplied marijuana cigarettes weigh approxi-mately .9 grams. A smoker would theoretically have to consume nearly 1,500 pounds of cannabis within about 15 minutes to induce a lethal response.
9. In practical terms, cannabis cannot induce a lethal response as a result of drug-related toxicity.
10. Another common medical way to determine drug safety is called the therapeutic ratio. This ratio de-fines the difference between a therapeutically effective dose and a dose capable of inducing adverse effects.
11. A commonly used over-the-counter product like aspirin has a therapeutic ratio of around 1:20. Two as-pirins are the recommended dose for adult patients. Twenty times this dose, forty aspirins, may cause a lethal reaction in some patients, and will almost cer-tainly cause gross injury to the digestive system, includ-ing extensive internal bleeding.
12. The therapeutic ratio for prescribed drugs is commonly around 1:10 or lower. Valium, a commonly used prescriptive drug, may cause very serious biological damage if patients use 10 times the recommended dose.
13. There are, of course, prescriptive drugs which have much lower therapeutic ratios. Many of the drugs used to treat patients with cancer, glaucoma and multi-ple sclerosis are highly toxic. The therapeutic ratio of some of the drugs used in anti-neoplastic therapies, for example, are regarded as extremely toxic poisons with therapeutic ratios that may fall below 1:1.5. These drugs also have very low LD-50 ra-tios and can result in toxic, even lethal reactions, while be-ing properly em-ployed.
14. By contrast, marijuana's therapeutic ratio, like its LD-50, is impossible to quantify because it is so high.
15. In strict medical terms marijuana is far safer than many foods we commonly consume. For example, eating 10 raw potatoes can result in toxic response. By compari-son, it is physically impossible to eat enough cannabis to in-duce death.
16. Marijuana, in its natural form, is one of the safest therapeutically active substances known to man. By any measure of rational analysis cannabis can be safely used with a supervised routine of medical care.

Absolute truths have been admitted....
by Shining One ini had to wade through a lot of muck to find anyone with any reasonable arguments in my last post.
most were just the usual personal attacks from the fringe and their flock of followers.
instead of dealing with them, i have decided to post one response to those who made some valid points.

Now, here are some more questions: Given that this moral rule is out there somewhere, where did it come from? Who made this rule up and why should it apply to everyone? Apply that to our physical reality. Where did it come from? Where do our very mental processes come from and why should we even be alive, much less self-aware?
There were two cavemen sitt'en round the camp fire, one of the cavemen hits the other, the one that got hit didn't like it much, using what mental ability he had, he sat there a moment and thought, boy that didn't feel good, so I guess I don't want to do to other, what I don't like being done to me...and there you have it... now you know where it came from. Oh, and why we should even be alive...That's easy ...TAXES... I hope that helped? Acadian ~~~ of the My Head Hurts Class ~~~

How can these guys think they have the truth when they get so scared of somebody asking them a stinking question
That's what happened to my wife and me, we asked questions. we were doing research in the other books mentioned in the bible, like enoch, Jaser and others. they accused us of going ahead of the FDS, Well sorry if I'm tired of milk, I want some meat to chew on! Yeah, so were official apostates in our old hall, which is fine with us. You know what's really sad though, is we have openned our home on many occasions for differant ones in the hall who needed help not charging a dime for anything because they needed help, we had the book sudy in our home for over 10 yrs with all the muddy shoes in the winter, and never a though from anyone to help clean our carpets, or their kids breaking things. We bent over backwards for our hall, and never once recieved a thank you. I'm happy to be an Apostate in their eyes, better that, then God's eyes, WE know who the REAL Apostate's are! Acadian

by sinamongurl inhey!!!

Hello sin,
As long as a person is not hurting someone else, then it wouldnt matter if someone is gay, or has many sexual partners, so on and so on..... Ok, now, so be gentle..... Sin
And here in the USA "We the People" have a document that's suppose to support that Right. Their called the unalienable Right's to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness! As long as we don't infriegn on the Right's of other's and their Property. (Those days are gone now) as Bush said "it's just a goddamn piece of paper" OOps... I'm start'en to rant... as Jesus said....we need to "pull the log out of our own eye first before taking the splinter out of our brother's eye"
Unfortunitly there's always someone who thinks they know how to run your life better than you. But, also remember...Jesus at the last supper, when talking to his disciple's, related how he had sent them out before, but now he tell's them something differant to carry a sword, peter said they had two, Jesus said that's enough. The reason for the sword was mearly for self defence...So, even though we want everyone to treat us the way we treat other's (displaying love, helping each other where we can) Jesus shows we still have a Right to defend ourselves.
If only the world was so simple...
