>> Where is the hill Cumorah
okay, maybe this shows my ignorance, but wasn't Hill Comorah where Joesph Smith found the tablets containing the Book of Mormon.
To the topic: How old Adam was when Eve was created. Tied to 1975. Some SIILL cling to that, as if it means anything.

Do JWs have any deep doctrine..
by Qcmbr inin the lds church we have our 'deep doctrine' that is not preached from the stand and is often little more than pure speculation on what one prophet is supposed to have said etc.. here's a brief list of some of the things we might discuss outside of church... .
was jesus married?
where is the hill cumorah (place in the book of mormon)?

Barb Anderson's Court Hearing Update
by AndersonsInfo ingreetings from tennessee.
thank you for your inquiries regarding the barbara anderson vs. watchtower tennessee appellate court hearing, which took place on thursday, april 14, 2005. accompanied by steve and joy imhof, from panama city beach, florida, and our attorney, jerre hood, from winchester, tennessee, we drove to nashville to attend the 1:00 p.m. scheduled appellate hearing.
this hearing was requested last year by defendants in the case, and they are: the numerous corporations of watchtower bible and tract society; watchtower spokespersons, j. r. brown, and david semonian, and certain elders of the manchester, tn congregation of jws.

I'm curious what prompted the silentWatchtower slur then. I don't slur people who I consider astute. I guess I'm just curtious. It's fine you are not.
Of course, if it was an honest mistake, then I apologize for lashing out. Frankly, I think Simon should add to the "NO-NO" list "DO NOT IMPLY / ACCUSE OTHERS OF BEING WATCHTOWER SYMPATHIZERS." -

thanks for the insult alan. Yes, you know so much more about the subject than anyone else could. we are not worthy. anyone who brings up other points MUST be a mole for bethel legal. LOL.
I'm simply pointing out the "extra-legal" means that are taken against individuals. What it comes down to is your individual family situation. If your family ignores the shunning mandate, then whether you are DFed or not is irrelavent. If they don't, then likely they would shun you if the elders told them to anyway. Those are cold, hard FACTS. I thought you were logical and liked cold hard FACTS.
I've known faders who get shunned as if they were DFed and I've seen DFed ones whose family acts as if nothing happens. It's roll of the dice.

>> he told me that he was watching lesbian porn on the web! Mind you, he was afraid that I WAS BECOMING APOSTATE.
I for one think we should merge the two together: lesbian apostate porn. Have them reading "Crisis of Conscience" or a WT. As if any male viewers here would notice :-) Hopefully, some of the more skilled photoshopers here could whip something up....

Can You See Thru A Phoney Poster?
by minimus inare you able to tell the real from the phonies?
i see some posters that automatically raise suspicions because of how they state things.
others, after reading what they have to say over a period of time, show their true colors.

I thought that was a core purpose of this board -- to provide an outlet to those still in. I feel sorry for those that are trapped. I had a great situation where I could fade away. Not everyone is so lucky.
welcome Sith.

Not sure about what the social means, but the republicans want to take the "security" out of social security.

Points of exit..what is the age when most leave
by Qcmbr ini've just been to a big conference where we discussed retention of members and statistically lds lose most members (in the uk anyway) as follows: .
1/ 14 -18 (largest group) - i think it was 30% .
2/ new converts (next largest) - in the front door and straight out the back.

I fall in group 1. I started fading around ~21 (junior year of college).
Even growing up, hard to say I ever meant ANY new converts that didn't have a family member in the truth. I was raised a witness and my dad was an elder.
However, most of my friends at my age are not religiously active (don't go to church). The difference is that with JW (and probably LDS too) is that more activity is required to be considered one. for example, I know lots of people who consider themselves Catholic even though they haven't been to church in several years. by definition, they still are. it's sad witnesses aren't that way.
