Something significant changed in the WTS in 1984... but what was it???
by Elsewhere inlooking at this chart i can't help but notice that pre-1984 the growth statistics were extremely erratic.
then, all of the sudden in 1984 the growth statistics calmed down and have ever since fallowed a much more stable trend.
it's almost a straight line after 1984.. so what happened?

it's also "law of large numbers". Say if there were 1,000,000 dubs, then 100,000 is a 10% swing. Today, 100,000 is only ~2% swing with 6,000,000 witnesses. The "singularity" in the mid - 70's is "1975".

It didn't evolve Little Toe. From the University of Awake, I learned an astronaut from the Pleiades named Jehovah created everything.
From my psychology classes at the less august Cornell University (merely Ivy League), I learned the current thinking among psychologists is that schizophrenia is caused by some "enivromental factor" (i.e., "little critter"). The current theory is that it's a virus. But, this holds water too.

District Conventions NYC Area
by XBEHERE ina friend of mine living in upstate ny told me that dc's for this summer will be held in the 4 local jw owned assembly halls instead of a large stadium such as yankee.
this means much smaller, and presumably more dc's during the summer since most of these places i.e.
stanley theater can only hold about 4,000-5,000 people.

I don't think it is a matter of whether the WTS can cut a check for them... I think it is a question of whether or not the conventions will bring in more donation money than they cost.

Bingo! Actually, the rent for most venues the Society rents is practically 0. The idea is that the JWs will fill the local hotel rooms /restaurants / etc, so usually the local governments (who own most of the public facilities anyway) GIVE AWAY the use of the building. The building prep is done by volunteers for FREE.
Cost to the WT: Practically $0. -
