  The false pride of a "Window Washer"

  back when my sister and i were regular pioneers in the late 80's, there were many things that caught my ear.

  i don't usually make an effort to remember them, but i did yesterday.. i was sitting at a red light yesterday.

  i happened to look to the right and i saw a middle aged black man washing the windows at the strip mall......... ken and debbie mccarthy were two regular pioneers in our congregation.

  Lisa, you are out of line. First, it's not cool to "name names" in a forum like this. Ken and Debbie M. would have been enough. Secondly, Ken and Debbie are two of the absolute nicest, most humble people I've had the pleasure of knowing. I believe you're joking with the Merrill Lynch comment, and it's extremely poor taste.

  A question on the Central Wisconsin Apostate Hotbed Activity!

  well, i have to take my primo apostate hat off to all of you that have done the fine work in marshfield and neillsville.

  now....being in nearby wisconsin rapids, i have a question.

  we da'd, and everyone shuns us.

  thanks, blondie for the info. I'm not looking to go or anything. It's funny. The witnesses claim to be everywhere, but really they simply blend in with everyone else unless you go looking for them. :-)

  Noticed large representation here on JWD from WI. In fact, I'm impressed that I haven't seen a JW since moving to Madison 3 years ago!. not that I'm complaining. I saw 2 KH's in the Madison area: one south on Route 51, and the other near Barnaveld (sp), but both outside city limits. Are there any KHs in Madison proper? Just curious...

  you know, there was a school overseer that used to use a program similar to this. It lead to some interesting assignments: my favorites were the pre-teen girl getting a talk #3/ #4 about a godly view of sex and marriage with a sister older enough to be her mother as the "householder".
  I wonder if this program is a little more sophisticated. He used to print up the school 6 months at a time, and hand out 2 -3 talk assigments at once(!). ugh.
  
  It demostrated a great deal of thought went into the talk assigments. My dad when he was school overseer actually READ the School assignment list (themes for each talk) to make sure stuff like this didn't happen.

  it started me thinking about what it must have been like for him being raised as a gb member's only child at bethel.

  now i had a father that was at the forefront of the society's activites, and i know about some of the "perks" that come with that.
